3.0 out of 5 stars Nice color- just not on me January 9, 2011
Lapis of Luxury is a really nice color, and I was eager to get it in the mail. But once it was on, I hated it. And not the color itself, just the color on me. I'm tanned skinned with an olive undertone, and it just didn't work for me, unfortunately. Gave it to a co worker with a fairer skin tone and it worked much better for her.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful color July 13, 2011
Its not a kiddie blue (if that makes sense) this is a very sexy & sophisticated blue. I've brought this color to the nail salon when getting my nails done & I have gotten many compliments from young & old alike. Its very pretty & very feminine.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing Formula March 22, 2012
By Leslie

This is my first Essie polish that I've purchased and I was looking forward to this one because I love the shade of this color. I bought this at the same time that I purchased two other polished and while I was most looking forward to getting this one it is now my least favorite one. This is almost solely based on the fact that the application is very light. I expect that this polish will need about 4 coats to get a nice opaque finish. I don't have the stamina for that many coats so I have yet to actually wear it. I expect that I might have to layer a different polish underneath to use it. Love the color, but the formula is NOT good!

Update: This only took 3 coats, not 4, so the formula isn't as bad as I had expected it to be and the color is as lovely as I expected.

5.0 out of 5 stars Long Lasting April 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase
This is the first Essie polish that I have ever tried, and since then I've invested in a ton more. I was shocked at how beautiful and long lasting this polish was. It did take about 3 coats to get the color perfect, but 2 coats would probably have been fine. The polish took just under two weeks to show signs on wear and didn't chip at all while I had it on. My nails have always peeled when they get longer, but something about Essie polishes keeps them strong enough to grow out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute Blue April 5, 2011

I purchased this polish because my boyfriend's favorite color is light blue and didn't have any in my collection. Great spring or summer color. Nice shade for toes, but I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to rock it on my fingers. Wore well.

It's no secret Essie is an amazing nail polish brand. Just when you think you can't find that perfect shade in any other brand, Essie always pulls thru.
This color is very true to the picture, although a titch more purple than expected.
As for the seller, perfect. No issues came earlier than estimated by several days.
All in all happy customer :)
Would buy from this seller again !

4.0 out of 5 stars The Consistency March 6, 2012
I think I've been spoiled by the thicker, more opaque, Essie nail colors. While I like the color of this polish at 2 coats, it takes 3 to get the best coverage. However, unlike some polishes which look best at 3, this one can be worn at 2 coats if carefully done. Mind your brush as it may streak. This shade would get 5 stars from me if it didn't seem that Essie fell asleep at the wheel.

For some odd reason, this polish doesn't want to dry very well either. I've never had this problem with any other Essie polishes that I can recall. Maybe it's just me, but I've redone and messed up my manicure in this shade 3 times even at only two coats and ample drying time. It could be some odd reaction to my quick dry top coat... incompatibility or something, perhaps. I'll try it a fourth with a regular topcoat and pray it works. =-)

5.0 out of 5 stars PERFECT LAPIS COLOR
Such a gorgeous blue/purple and I love Essie! I usually like a double coat to really see the color, but it's awesome.

Beautiful and true-to-color of pictured. However, this particular polish takes 3-4 coats. They dry quickly, but it is not an overly opaque polish until you get to about coat... Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Essie? I doubt it
I'm questioning whether it really is Essie. When you use this color, it dries dull. I've never used an essie color that dried like that. It is usually glossy. Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful color, but not opaque!

4.0 out of 5 stars Muted Blue, hard to pull off, requires 3 coats.
Very interesting and unusual color- a dark blue with grey undertones. The nail requires at least 3 coats to really build and show the true effects. Can be somewhat streaky.
