Jean-David Morvan was born in Reims in November 1969. In 1989, Morvan began coursework at Saint-Luc Institute of Architecture and Fine Arts in Brussels. While he initially studied illustration, he ultimately became a script-writer. His first album "Reflets perdus" ("Diable à quatre") appeared in 1993, illustrated by Sylvain Savoia, at the small publishing company Zenda. The following year, he began a fruitiful partnership with Phillippe Buchet on the Nomad series. Morvan has gone on to become one of the most prolific script-writers in Europe: "Troll" for O.G. Boiscommun starting in 1996 at Delcourt (scripts written together with Sfar), "Sir Pyle" for Munuera at Editions Soleil since 1999, the adaptation for Li-An of the "Cycle de Tschaï" of the American author Jack Vance (at Delcourt since 2000), "Zorn et Dirna" for B. Bessadi and V. Trannoy at Editions Soleil since 2000, "Sept secondes" for G. Paret at Delcourt, "Nävis" with Munuera at Delcourt in 2004. Morvans style is! an easy mix of classic sci-fi, unbridled heroic fantasy, surprising characters with fantastic powers, an intense rhythm of successive adventures and outrageous humor. The space opera "Sillage" which he launched in 1998 with Philippe Buchet, has been both a critical and commercial success.
Philippe Buchet was born in Juniville in the Ardens. After his studies, he worked in cinema and communication before turning to comics. Along with scenarist Jean-David Morvan he started the science-fiction series 'Sillage' (a.k.a. Wake in English and Estela in Spanish). Buchet has won a prize for the colouring of 'Sillage' at the comics festival in Solliès in 1998. Buchet has also created the one-shot 'La Quete des Réponses' for the magazine Dragon.
