This book is not useful as a textbook but makes an excellent reference for the rising practitioner. Up to date and well written

Builder's Essentials Estimating Building Costs: For The Residential & Light Commercial Contractor (Builder's Essentials)
I ordered the book on January 5th/09 with estimated arrival (@ AMAZON's website) on January 12/09. Today is January 30th and as I track the package it has not been delivered yet. But I have been charged for it! Now, I check the book on AMAZON's website and it says that shipping takes between 1 to 2 months!! ... this message was not there before. I want my money back!!!!
