My dad always told me some tools are a matter of preference. Well, for me, I wouldn't own another hammer. I love my estwing! that's all there is to it. tough, rugged, and unbreakable under normal use. I've used mine for so many things. I mean it's practacally been my favorate tool and it's stood a big part in remodeling our home. the nice thing is, I'm left handed and makes driving a nail for me soo much easier than any other hammer I've used. My dad always tells me, there is a proper tool for every job, and proper hammer for me is an estwing.

This is a Great hammer I own several estwing tools and as always this is a Great hammer to have in your tool bag or tool box.American made thats not something you hear a lot of any more and you can find them just about any where in the world which is a plus for some people who mite go over seas to work.A bit of advice if you want to have a Great set of hammers get this one E3-20C and E3-28C-24 the latter for form work, reno tear out, etc,Estwing Tools are built to last a life time but dont loan them to any one for you mite not get it back,J V "Nick" Nichols,DC1,USCG,(RET)

My husband wanted this for Christmas, this specific weight and style. We recently began remodeling the house and wanted a hammer to keep at home instead of running to the work truck all the time. Well he liked it so much it ended up in the work truck instead. He said its the perfect weight and feels great in the hand. Oh and it was cheaper on here than any of the hardware stores

Really like this hamer for general carpentry use. I wanted something a little heavier with a slightly longer handle than the 16 oz Sears hammer I had. Very well made with the curved claws which you are much less likely to knock your front teeth out with than the straight claw ripping hammers. Very well made and should last a lifetime.

I bought this for my husband because every time he would go to do a project around the house he would complain that he used to have a nice Estwing and then he loaned it out to someone and never got it back. When it arrived he said he was happy with it, that it was a very nice framing hammer and that Estwings are the best.

Excellent product! So much more balanced and a better feel in the hand than any other hammer I have ever picked up.
A good looking tool as well! Wouldn't use anything else.

Never realized that I needed a heavier weight, works great, if I would have ordered a milled face instead of a smooth face I would have rated it a 5.
