The plug-in AC adapter increases the versatility of this radio series. I have several but did not pay anything near $18.00 for any of them. Don't know if there is any negative effect on the built-in rechargable battery with long-term use of the plug-in adapter, but I've had no problems with intermittant use. You should be able to get the AC adapter for about half of this listed price at www.etoncorp.com and a few other vendors also selling it at the Eton price.

I am ok with the product.
The company selling it has it over priced.
Their Shipping is over priced.
And once the radio came from another company and I learned it already had an adapter with it, (which the advertisement does not advise),
this company said there would be a 15% restocking fee if I returned it.
Talk about feeling ripped off. It is cheaper to keep it and hope to find
another use for it.

The first weather radio I purschased (FR300) did not come with charger. I had to buy seperate, the second radio(FR400) came with charger. Buy if yours didn't come with radio. Save your batteries, for when you need them.

I am sure this is a fine adapter, however it does not work with the fr500 solarlink, even though amazon leads one to think so. Of course i cant be too harsh, i should have read things closer, but shame on you amazon for leading me astray.

Providing a power outlet for my Grundig emergency radio has brought this quality radio into mainstream everyday use in my home. The reception is clear and enjoyable, not like my previous rinky dink unknown brand radio.

I want to see more AC adapters like this for most radio products just like the FR-200 such as the Grundig G3, G5, G6, G8, S-350DL. Those aftermarket AC adapters DO damage these radios, I want something that meets the specs and makes the product last longer. I had to get a OEM approved power supply netbook from here, why can I just simply buy an AC adapter for my special portable radios???

I purchased the Eton AC Adapter for my Red Cross AM/FM weather radio receiver. This radio receiver is kept in my office. The adapter works well with my radio receiver and I recommend it to all who want to a reliable converter.

Very handy for the radios to power them if you have power that is. While they are crank-able, the rechargeable battery like all rechargeable batteries will hold less of a charge over time so I only use it when I have no other options.

This I bought with the emergency hand crank radio. It recharges as it is suppose to.
