5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to install and looks attractive--Worth the money!

I bought this to use in the window that is in my shower. I live in a residential suburban neighborhood and I have a window in my shower. Right now I have a shower curtain over the window but it makes the shower kind of cramped inside. I purchased this window film for my back door that has 9 small panes of glass through which I could see my neighbor come and go from his front door. I wanted to make the window opaque without blocking the light, and this worked perfectly! Much better than grandma-style curtains.

The word "film" is deceptive--this is a high quality thick material that feels like vinyl and is very easy to work with. I followed the installation directions on the package and it adhered to the window perfectly. None of the corners peeled up and no bubbles. Once the film was cut to the correct size, the installation was very easy.

Other reviewers have said that this items is expensive, but I found it to be far less expensive than traditional window treatments, so I consider this an excellent value for the purpose. Highly recommended.

This film came complete with a squeege to install it and went on easily. It covers a bathroom window that faces a deck so people could be on the other side of it. You absolutely can't see thru it but it lets all of the light in. It looks great too. I would highly recomend this film.

I initially saw this at Home Depot but it was out of stock and after looking at 5 different stores decided to try amazon. It can be a little pricy depending on how much area your trying to cover. I ended up using 6 boxes on my bay window, but I didn't want curtains or blinds so the cost was comparable to those. It is super easy to put on. It's very thick and easy to place and move around. It also looks fantastic and have had several people compliment me on it (even workman I've had working on other jobs). You can't even tell it's a film. It actually looks like it part of the glass.

Right now I have a shower curtain over the window but it makes the shower kind of cramped inside. So I decided to try this film - I installed it perfectly but upon venturing outside to see if it really shielded unwanted views I found that it did nothing to prevent anyone from seeing it. I could see the inside of my shower and bathroom in detail. I took it down and put up another shower curtain until I can buy and install a pull down shade of some sort.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Easy & Beautiful, May 20, 2010
This review is from: Etched Leaf Window Film 24-by-36-Inch (Tools & Home Improvement)
I just installed this window film in our master bathroom. I had those cheap plasic mini blinds that I never opened for the last 6 years. The bathroom is highly upgraded but the mini blinds cheapened the look. It only took a half hour to install and the bathroom looks like a show stopper now. I can't believe I waited so long to do this!! It is sooo simple and you only need one person to install. Make sure you have a really sharp utility knife. Mine wasn't sharp but even with the oops cuts, you can't tell. The film is very forgiving, it lines right back up. It looks lovely inside and out. Even at night with the lights on, you can't see in. You can only see shadows and you get that from blinds as well. The cost should not be of concern, to buy new blinds or new stained glass windows, you will spend a fortune. This is a quick, easy and inexpensive way to change the whole look to any room. I would highly recommend this product.

I bought this to cover up a window next to my front door. Lucky me, the window wasn't one large panel, but multiple squares. So the most time was spent measuring out the squares. Once I had that done, the rest was easy. Some tips:
1) The texture makes it easier to put on the film. I used a spray bottle and if you're afraid of fingerprints, wet your fingers with the same water/soap liquid and that'll prevent any prints on the film.
2) If you are doing small spaces, as I was, use a credit card or some sort of hard plastic to squeegee out the water. The squeegee is good for large areas, but my squares were basically just a bit smaller than the squeegee provided.
3) Use a good amount of solution to water down the window. It will make application easier and you can move it around more than on a dry window.
4) Make sure to leave the 1/16" margin. It makes for easier application and honestly, with the edges, you can barely notice. If you cut it too large, there's no room for your water bubbles to be squeezed out at the edges.
5) For small squares, I found that cutting with sharp scissors was faster. Even with a straight edge ruler, I was still handier with the scissors than the box cutter.

I love the way my windows look now!

I wish I had found this product years ago! Easily applied and really lovely. I put this one in my husband's bathroom window, and so got rid of those awful mini-blinds. Now the bathroom is lighter yet still private. Just be sure to measure accurately before you cut! And also spend a little extra time easing out the bubbles. I have three windows now with film and we think they are very classy!

The hardest part was scrubbing the window first - in my case I was replacing a sheet of shelf liner I had put on the bathroom window as a temporary privacy solution - 20 years ago. They aren't kidding about any dirt creating bubbles and bumps - very important to get the glass really clean. Luckily it's easy to peel back a corner, remove a smudge or speck, and use a little more soapy water to put it back. It took a little work but looks very nice.

I could not find the instructions so I called the toll-free number. The info is INSIDE the sealed roll. We measured twice and cut once. Use a right angle! Use a new utility knife blade! Have a water sprayer and a detergent sprayer ready like the instructions say. We had no trouble and the windows are great. One suggestion: it takes 4 hands. Choose someone you work well with because decisions have to be made. I just did what my brother said and all was well. One person peels the sheet and the other takes the backing. A great product.

THIS WIDOW FILM IS VERY ATTRACTIVE BUT I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT YOU CAN STILL SEE INTO THE HOUSE THROUGH THE LEAVES. I WILL LEAVE IT FOR NOW BUT WILL CHANGE IT EVENTUALLY WHEN I FIND A FILM THAT ACTUALLY PREVENTS ANYONE FROM LOOKING INTO THE HOUSE. I MAY HAVE TO RESORT TO CURTAINS . I MAY HAVE TO CHANGE THE GLASS THAT IS IN THE SIDE ENTRANCE WINDOWS. I KNOW THERE IS ONE-WAY GLASS AS NURSERIES USED IT AT LEAST 60 YEARS AGO.
