The listing is wrong
on June 3, 2014
Even though these items work great, the listing says you can add other outlets, so I bought two 5 packs, but their is a catch that they do not tell you about. These 'Programmable' remotes will only ever work with 5 outlets. So when I press button 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 that will turn on the outlets allocated to that button on the remote. So having two remotes both which have the same buttons mean two outlets turn on at the same time for that number as in my case as I have two 5 packs. Even if you reprogram them, the remotes (1 to infinity) will only ever give 5 distinct codes. So whilst you can reallocate a button to a unit, you cannot have more than 5 individual outlets. For me this sucks as I just wasted a bunch of money on two packs of blatant lies (Their video says the same about unlimited outlets.)
Other info. The remotes are: 99mm Height, 55mm Wide, 41 mm deep (62mm deep including pins)
Max Rating is: 10A 1200 Watts (120v 60Hz)
RF Frequency is: 433.92 Mhz
The plugs case is connected together with 2 security screws (Needs 5mm flat head screwdriver with 2mm notch in center.
(It looks like the center orientation of the socket maybe able to be changed (obviously violating warranty) but I have not been able to confirm this yet.
Hope all this helps.
*** Update ***
To open the case, you need a #6 security spanner. The enclosure has two clips one at the bottom and one at the top to unlock the case.
For those with soldering skills, the socket can be rotated 180 degrees. However the tails going from the PCB to the socket would need to be replaced with longer ones. The Mini PCB is 40.15mm, x 37.8mm and 22.7mm in height.
