I ended up finding an online video of similar setup showing how to use these properly. This type of compressor is not as common as the cheaper variety, so finding how to use these was difficult. These come with zero instructions.

1 Set the depth on the tool for the RG6 connector you are using (loosen nut on tool, screw up until the RG6 connector is secure, re tighten)
2 Strip Coax (I would buy a stripper tool instead of hassling with the built on tool)
3 Slide Connector onto cable until the cable is flush with the inside of the connector. (depending on the rubber coating on the cable, this can be easy or take alot of effort to shove it into the hole. Use a blow dryer to soften the rubber)
4 With cable attached, load tool and sqeeuze

I know this seems simple, what threw me off was the effort it took to slide the connector over the stiff rubber cable. If the connector isn't on far enough over the cable, you will snap the connector in half. I felt the tool should be able to slide it on and compress it at the same time.

I'm not a pro. I acquired several hundred feet of RG-59 and RG-6 cable recently and wanted to use some of it to make a run for a cable internet installation. I could have bought standard length cables with pre-installed connectors, but instead opted to purchase this tool and connectors so that I can use the wire that I have already to make my own custom length cables.

I wanted a quality tool at a reasonable price point, particularly for something that I would not be using daily (more like once a year). The tool appears to be heavy duty. The learning curve to use this tool was nil, it was easy to use, and produced a solid crimp. I'm very pleased with the results

It's nice to be able to knock out a custom length cable when you need to. At this price, it's affordable as well.

Works well with the X long fittings. The wire stripper
function is more like a wire cutter. I use a specialty
rotary type wire stripper.

This is a quality made compression tool with a good price. It adjusts easily to different size connectors well. I even use the cutter, using the ratcheting, to strip coax. Very pleased with this tool and will recommend it to others.

This tool is very handy for a household handyman looking for an all-in-one item for making custom coax cables.

I was replacing a ~150' run that had three different kinds of cable pieced together with mismatched barrel connectors. I was experiencing weak signal on some channels, and frequent channel dropping on a 6-tuner DVR setup. With the continuous cable connection made using this tool (and Southwire cable spool + Belden Connectors) I am getting stronger signals and almost no dropped recordings.

The only thing I would wish to improve would be the stripper/cutter. Maybe a more experienced person could tell me how to properly use the tool, but I found it difficult to control the depth of the cut. The difference between a good cut, (where you just take off the outer layer), and a bad cut (where you pull off all the shielding and outer mesh) is millimeters, so small changes in pressure on the grips can ruin a cut. And the compression connectors are generally one-and-done, so if you press one in, and find out the connection is weak, you'll have to throw it out and start over.

Its not that big of a deal when you have a 500 foot roll of cable, because you can just cut off the end and try again, but it can get frustrating if you're having to do this 2-3 times for every connection. This is not an idiot-proof tool, but practice should improve results. I would definitely recommend buying 10-20' feet more cable than you need, and 5-10 more connectors than you need, to account for the learning curve.

If I only had one tool, it would be this. But if I could carry around a second tool, I would probably get one of the "spinner" stripping/prep tools, also sold on Amazon. They seem a little better calibrated for a more consistent stripping cut.

The tool works. The lack of instructions is unfortunate, except that YouTube videos are a much better teacher than a page of written instructions anyway. Not including instructions isn't really a bad thing.

This is a compression fitting tool - not a crimp style tool. There's a big difference between those two connectors. The old style crimp fittings require a tool that looks like a pair of great big pliers. That type of connector is mostly obsolete, and they have a ring and stem arrangement. The compression fittings are an all in one part.

You'll need a wire stripper to make this work. Yes you could do the stripping with a knife or the included cutter on this tool, but you'll get tired very quickly doing that. Purchase an inexpensive coaxial wire stripper. Here is an example:
Coax RG Coaxial Cable Stipper 2-Blades.

This tool has dies to compress three different connectors, F (or that regular old cable television connector), BNC, or RCA. The card on the back of the tool shows which die to use for which connector.

The toll does a great job holding the cable and connector and drives the die in a perfectly straight direction. There is a height adjustment for the die that has a locking nut. For the first couple of compressions, you'll want to go slowly and feel the finish line. Once you've figured out that distance, you can then adjust the height to work the same every time.

Inserting the cable is a little finicky; you have to push two little tabs forward to open up the cable holder. That's the only not so great thing about this tool.

I found excellent instructions with pictures with a Google search.
