Yes it does. It comes with a cord to plug into a computer to charge it. I just use the cube looking thing to plug it into the wall and that works good.

I noticed this problem when the battery was getting low. Try having it plugged into the wall outlet while playing through the iPad and see if it still cuts out.

Both cables (3.5 audio jack & USB charging cable) are 48-inches in length. I'm not sure about the frequency response rate but the freq range is 80Hz-20KHz and the speaker is rated 3W. The Bluetooth is v2.1 +EDR. I bought 3 different portable speakers from 3 different manufacturers and this one is by far the best value and sound quality for the money. It beats others selling in the $100 range.

I don't have a Kindle so haven't tried. It connects via standard Bluetooth and 2.5 mom cable. Pick one and you're set. If Kindle has either capability, it should be compatible.
