Make that negative 1 star......, October 12, 2006
This review is from: Eternal Outlaw (Paperback)
This is one of the most annoying books I have ever read. I am 38 years old, yet never once in my life have I ever heard anyone use the phrase "jiminy christmas" or the like, yet the heroine in this novel uses "jiminy christmas, Johnny" thru out the book. Keep in mind, this book was written in 1999 and the characters started out in the present day. It felt like the Grandma equivalent of "Dude" so popular in the younger generation, and just as bad.
To summarize, the heroine ends up back in time with the hero and attempts to help him save his soul which he has basically sold to the devil. The concept was great, but the writing felt like it was from a 12 year old girl. This author seems to have the same type of writing style as Cassie Edwards. Simplistic and almost sickeningly sweet, it's the type of book I could see my Grandmother reading, which is great......for her. However, if you prefer a little more imagination, depth, and realistic characters, this is not for you. After reading this book, I have been unable to bring myself to read another by this author.

Historical Romance with an interesting time-travel twist, March 31, 2000
This review is from: Eternal Outlaw (Paperback)
The relationship development between Johnny Logan and Angel Newland from 1999 to 1890 should be at the top of your list to read because it is so unusual to find time-travel in a historical romance novel! "Eternal Outlaw" comes across as a romance novel all the way (not a science fiction as one might suspect) due to the beautiful writing of Georgina Gentry! This book was too exciting to put down and the relationship between Johnny and Angel is unparalleled. Don't miss this one!

One word: Cheesey!, February 11, 2009
This review is from: Eternal Outlaw (Paperback)
This book was ridiculous in some parts. The heroine, "Angel/Angie" goes back in time by following the hero in the story from modern day to the 1890's. The writer beats you over the head with Angel's disbelief that she is actually back in time, rather thinking she is in some bizarre movie set, or magic show, or every one is playing a trick on her. Pages and pages go by with her making stupid, naive comments about where she thinks she is. SHe also endlessly mentions how "plump" she is throughout the storyline. I got that she wasn't a rail-thin person the first time the author mentioned it, it doesn't need to be mentioned 400 other times. I also agree with the other reviews, her repetitive "Jiminy Christmas" comment became like nails on a chalk board. Even though I got over the unrealistic and ridiculous storyline and took it for what it was, I was still irritated by the heroine as she was written to be so unbelievably stupid and naive. The only reason this book got two stars is because I did appreciate the writer's hero. It wasn't the classic good looking tough guy, rather she added mystery and interest to his character, which kept me reading.
