EMI did a nice job of remastering these tracks, so that they are cleaner and more dynamic than ever before. This is significant since there is so much Piaf product out there from second-generation tapes/old records/etc. Including the most well-known of Piaf's songs this, then, has become the definitive single CD of her work. Highly recommended.

Such a pleasure to hear so many songs that Ms. Piaf made famous especially, "Milord", "La Vie En Rose", and "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien". A great compilation! I only wish a word booklet had been included, but you can't have everything. Ms. Piaf's voice is more than enough!

I love this collection. It has all of my favorite songs of Edith Piaf. This one is truly a classic. You won't be dissatisfied.

Almost enough Piaf for a rainy afternoon. It carries me back to my college days of sitting around listening to records and drinking Chianti. It certainly is a nice slice of her career. This is a beautifully re-engineered piece of work. Nothing seems to have been lost, and the listener is the benefactor. As suggested by several folks, this is the way to get the best of her work w/o having to wade through all 2000 of her albums. I love Piaf and I love this album.

Excellent CD of original works and pleasure to hear after seeing recent movie, La Vie En Rose. Better selection of songs than movie CD in my opinion.

Great renditions -- very soulful, rich voice -- heart-warming and moving -- very clear recordings. Makes me want to get the lyrics and sing along. Makes you feel like you're in Paris -- for less than $10. Edith Piaf was a bit before our time (we're leading edge boomers), but as long-time Francophiles we went to Amazon the day after watching "La Vie en Rose" to buy the sound-track. After reading the reviews, we decided to get "Eternelle" instead. We are very pleased with it! The Repeat button on the CD player gets a lot of use on this album.

Beautiful collection. All her good songs are on this album. I would purchase this as opposed to the soundtrack to La Vi En Rose. There are more songs than included in the film.

Eternelle: The Best Of. Pure essence of Piaf, raw and gutsy, a must have for any Piaf lover. This record shows the many facets of this wonderful singer; true some of the sound is a bit rough but the tracks were recorded live up to 60 years ago. There is nothing more to be said, this is a top of the list recording.

I got this cd for my dad. we had some car trips planned while he and mom visited from out of state and i figured they would tire of hoobastank and some of my other usual offerings ;0).....It was all we listened to outside of christmas tunes and i cant seem to stop listening to it...My parrakeets love it and i hope pick up on a tune or two! Im no music scientist that can go into detail about the quality of the recording...but i can say that it is rare to find a voice that is so strong and clear as to eclipse the accompanyment. She is the bomb! i enjoyed this more than the sound track from the movie about her life. It gets a double parrakeet and one cockatiel stamp of approval. one cant get any higher praise than that!

THIS HAS EVERY IMPORTANT SONG ON IT THAT YOU WANT TO HEAR BY PIAF. COULDN'T BE BETTER!!
