4.0 out of 5 stars A new industrial/ebm band that shows incredible promise, March 22, 2003
This review is from: Eternity (Audio CD)
Angels & Agony caught me by surprise with their refreshing and exhilarating style of electronic darkwave music. Eternity bares a sound very reminiscent of VNV Nation's Praise The Fallen album. Perhaps this is no coincidence, since VNV Nation are friends of the band (in fact, Ronan Harris from VNV Nation produced this album). Most of the songs on Eternity are high energy dance-floor material. The vocals are melancholy but meaningful, addressing topics from the theory of conscious thought to down-to-earth themes such as love and loss, ect. This is certainly an excellent CD to add to your collection if you are into bands like VNV Nation, Assemblage 23 or Covenant. A couple of tracks could use some better production value, but this is probably due to the fact that Angels & Agony are just starting out and have not yet acquired the absolute best equipment. In any case, Eternity is an excellent debut release and proof that Angels & Agony are a band worthy of keeping an eye on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant and clean, October 21, 2002

This is what I wish other bands were heading toward, powerful yet moving melodic remedies for the modern world. If your a VNV Nation fan you will love this cd - It really grows on you and is quite. Most industrial bands think they have to scream and yell on songs today and they really ruin the mood and break the flow of the songs. But Ronan has achieved a soothing vocals Masterpiece of soundscapes, melodies and music you can listen to over and over forever. None of these over powered bass drums that go over and over until you can't stand it anymore. Here is a fresher cleaner event that means something. Every song is good and this will become one of your favorite cd's. Don't be afraid.
