Editorial Reviews

Review

The second in this religious fantasy series offers an inventive premise and evocative imagery… a good choice for thoughtful readers with a taste for the Baroque. — Kirkus Reviews

(Kirkus Reviews )

From the Back Cover

This fast-paced adventure fantasy trilogy starts with murder and leads teenagers Nathan and Kelly out of their once-familiar world as they struggle to find answers to the tragedy. A mysterious mirror with phantom images, a camera that takes pictures of things they can’t see, and a violin that unlocks unrecognizable voices … each enigma takes the teens further into an alternate universe where nothing is as it seems.

Find out what happens when good battles evil in an alternate universe

Interfinity is imminent. In this second book in the Echoes from the Edge series, the merging of Earth and its parallel dimensions means one thing to Nathan Shepherd—he must rescue his parents while attempting to save his world and others. But signs foretell the impending collapse of the cosmos. Nathan and his friend Kelly watch the night sky transform into a giant mirror, as stars are replaced by scattered reflections of Earth. The teens are not the only ones on a mission. Mictar, a dimensional stalker who consumes the life energy of his victims, fights to control the universe—a universe Nathan knows belongs to God. Journeying through dimensional realities, Nathan and Kelly must draw on their God-given gifts of wisdom and courage and the help of faithful friends, as they battle Mictar for lives and worlds sliding toward the edge of destruction.

More About the Author

Bryan Davis is the author of the following young adult fantasy series: Dragons in our Midst, Oracles of Fire, Echoes from the Edge, and Dragons of Starlight. He also wrote I Know Why the Angels dance, a contemporary novel for adults.

After laboring as a computer geek for 20 years, Bryan followed a dream to become an author. He began by writing a story to motivate his seven children to gain some excitement about writing, and that story grew into a novel. After spending the next eight years learning the craft and enduring more than 200 rejections from publishers and agents, he broke through with his best-selling series Dragons in our Midst. He is now a full-time author and lives with his wife, Susie, and their children in western Tennessee.

Bryan's novels have been readily accepted in schools worldwide, whether public, Christian (Protestant or Catholic), Jewish, or otherwise. Such is their wide appeal. For more information, see his website - http://www.daviscrossing.com

5.0 out of 5 stars Echoes from the Edge is BACK!!!!, October 27, 2008
Once more Nathan and Kelly must pack their bags and start trekking through dimensions to try and find Nathan's parents and stop Mictar's evil plans.

I liked this book every bit as much as Beyond the Reflection's Edge, if not quite so much as the Dragons in our Midst and Oracles of Fire books. Mr. Davis is a masterful storyteller, and it shows in Eternity's Edge. Harrowing chases, complex mysteries, and mysterious characters abound, but none of them can stand in Nathan Shepherd's way as he pushes on, with the help of his friends Kelly, Daryl, Dr. Gordon, and Clara. If you're a fan of Mr. Davis, and even if you're not, you'll love this book!

4.0 out of 5 stars What a thrill ride!, October 19, 2008
Wow! Hang onto your seats everyone - when you read this book you are in for a wild ride!!! This is book #2 in a trilogy and it is wonderful. One word of caution though, I highly recommend reading the 1st and 2nd books back to back so you stay in the flow of Earth Red, Earth Yellow, Nathan Blue, Clara Red, Nathan Yellow, etc... I actually picked the 1st one up and read the last few chapters to try and refresh my memory but I know that reading them in direct sequence would be very helpful. I read the 1st one back in June and have read 75 (no joke) other books in between these two so no surprise that the details were a little fuzzy :-)

This is a mind bending thrill ride that will take your breath away. It may be hard for pre-teens to follow, but teens and adults alike will love this book. I can't wait for #3 to come out and wrap everything up for me! I just kept thinking what a cool movie this series would make...

5.0 out of 5 stars For fantasy lovers and music lovers!, October 11, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Eternity' Edge is at the top of my list for Christian speculative fiction. There is plenty of action, and music lovers will really enjoy how much music is a key the book. I also enjoyed how the main character, Nathan Shepherd, is so chivalrous. That may sound "old fashioned", but I think it sets a great example for the young men who might pick this book up. It is well worth your time to read!
