5.0 out of 5 stars "Authorized Persons Only!"
A really quick and interesting read. The "Real Story" about what goes on behind the closed doors of the operating room. Humourous but eye opening! Enjoyed the candor of the author, who obviously has a lot of experience
with the subject.
Funny and enjoyable!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected...
I enjoyed the book all the same, but very to nothing makes this book specifically from the point of view of a nurse anesthetist. It could have easily been written from an OR nurse. Some of the anecdotal stories were humorous though.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read For Everyone Prior Seeking Any Type Of Medical Care, February 19, 2007
This review is from: The Ether Bunny: Tales of a Nurse Anesthetist (Paperback)
The Ether Bunny is very entertaining, humorous, & thought provoking for anyone who ever has or is about to become a patient or fall under the care of any medical person or facility. Not a tell all, but an informative easy to read book that reveals the innermost secrets of the medical field that even the most informed patient would never know. It is full of short stories about 'what really goes on inside the operating room, once you go under anesthesia.' Tales on the staff, physicians, facilities, insurance companies, policies, & of course patients that make all this possible. No names, just facts. A non-fiction that is sure to keep you laughing while informing you of things you had no way of knowing. A book that stirs every human emotion, one you'll be wanting your family & friends to read before seeking any medical treatment again. Controversial yet informative for sure. Highly recommended.

This review is from: The Ether Bunny: Tales of a Nurse Anesthetist (Paperback)
The Ether Bunny is a collection of short stories loosely related to the work of a Nurse Anesthetist. I bought this book hoping for more of an insight into the reality of being a Nurse Anesthetist. I was looking for more job specific information but I couldn't find that here. Maybe I just had the wrong expectations.

But if you enjoy short stories with the operating room as its main setting you might enjoy this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Inside view of what goes on in the OR, July 16, 2008

This review is from: The Ether Bunny: Tales of a Nurse Anesthetist (Paperback)
This book is an interesting collection of short stories that the author has experienced. I think she made some interesting points against socialized medicine in this work. This book is written in laymen's terms. Very understandable by the general public. Someone aspiring to become a CRNA may find this work lacking in technical detail, however it would give you insight into the work environment you will be entering.
