Quick thoughts:

The section describing the different ethics (justice, critique, care) could've been organized a bit better. Also, the model on the cover (professional ethic), has too much going on and is an overly complex description.

The real-world examples are great ways to get you really thinking about different ethical dilemmas.

I thought this was a very good book in the area of ethical leadership in education. It even touches on education law. I recommend it for any administrator's book collection.

Describes a variety of case studies that help give better understanding to ethical decision making in education. Cases range from student rights to teacher privacy, and everything in between. May be best for an introductory course, as it doesn't dig deep into the issues, but rather gives a good overview.

The book provides a nice summary of varying ethical perspectives followed by various cases that cause you to reflect and evaluate how to handle these common scenarios ethically. It is a good instructional tool for preparing to deal with ethical issues as a school leader.

I chose this rating based on the fact that this book was a required text for a class I am taking.
The book "Taking Sides" was also used.
The format works well.
The visual of the actual model presented is helpful.

There is no thought process into the subject matter. The ideas are presented in a mixed manners. The use of opinions is overshadowing true references. I would not recommend this book for course study. Sadly some do

"Ethical Leadership" provides a comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by school leaders. I am better prepared for my first year of administration thanks to "Ethical Leadership".

The book is well formatted in an easy to understand order. It also builds from one ethical type to another. The vignettes are believable and will help with testing comprehensive exam.
