This review is from: Ethics in Journalism (Paperback)
This book provides a great amount of examples of instances when journalism ethics were tested in real life. Moreover, it opens with a good group of philosphical paradigms, which allow the reader to consider many angles to consider each dilemma. Also, the book covers a broad range of situations and scenarios that will come up in the careers of nearly any journalist.
I have used this book for a course titled Ethics in the News Media in an accredted program at a Research I institution and believe it is a great discussion item for a seminar course. Students get dozens upon dozens of things to consider, and just as we would hope to do in academia, the author does not make decisions about what is right or wrong, leaving that to the reader. |
