Format: Paperback
This is a well-written and thought-provoking book. Mahoney raises excellent questions about the moral choices administrators are forced to make in the current educational climate, and provides perspective on them by using first-person accounts of people on the front lines. He also examines these moral dilemmas within the context of several different philosophers' ethical frameworks. After reading this book, I have a much better sense of what school principals are up against, and a greater appreciation for the internal wrestling I now know goes on. One weakness is that the case study consisted of only 5 people; nonetheless, this book really stretches one's understanding of school politics.
