Over the past 15+ years the subject of the Ethiopian/Eritrean conflict (Africa's most drawn out and destructive war) has been a subject of immense interest to scholarship. Ethiopia & Eritrea: A Documentary Study is an anthology of the most essential documents for the understanding of the fundamental causes and issues. With so much of Africa seemingly plunged into perpetual cycles of war, famine, drought, tribalism, and self-inflicted genocide American assistance and/or intervention now depends on clear public understanding of the complex historical, social, economic and cultural differences underlying aspirations by one group for emancipation from the rule of another group.
