A professional yet compact book on Ethiopia. A classic.,

This book was introduced to me by an Ethiopian friend, whilst visiting Ethiopia in 1997. I found it full of facts about the country, thorough, professional and yet accesible. This despite the fact that it was first printed in the fifties. Mr. Ullendorf does tend however, to look at Ethiopia through rose- tinted glasses. This should not discourage those who have little knowledge of the country, for it is an excellent introduction to a fascinating country.
