Shulamith Lala Ashenberg Straussner, DSW, CAS, is a tenured full professor at the Shirley M. Ehrenkranz School of Social Work at New York University, where she is also coordinator of the Post-Master's Program in the Treatment of Alcohol- and Drug-Abusing Clients. Dr. Straussner is author or editor of numerous publications, including Clinical Work with Substance-Abusing Clients, and has a private therapeutic and supervisory practice in New York City
