I loved it. The author is an authority when it comes to retail selling online through portal Web sites. He started with eBay, then moved on to Amazon, and now he's tackling Etsy that caters to people who previously sold in a big way through local craft fairs. Etsy enables its artisan shop owners to sell to customers worldwide. It doesn't cost too much to register and use the Etsy site, but don't expect to make a killing in profits either. The book is comprised of the following chapters and also profiles several Etsy shops, too.

1. Introduction
2. Register and shop at Etsy
3. Open for business
4. Create and edit your listings
5. Photograph your items like a pro
6. Organize and manage your shop
7. Ship your treasures
8. Etsy marketing
9. Find and sell vintage items
10. Mine the Etsy community
11. Put Google to work for you
12. Paying to advertise your Etsy shop
13. Protect your work and make it legal
14. Staying current with Etsy
15. Mind your manners and dos and donts

I found the book to be well written and organized. It was definitely an easy read. Probably my only complaint was the way the book's main chapters were interlaced with several profile capsules summarizing current Etsy shop owners. To tell you the truth, I enjoyed reading the profiles more than the main content of the book. I would have enjoyed the book more if the 15 chapters had been presented first as a Part I, and then the 16 profiles were grouped together as the subject material for a Part II. However, I am sure any artisan who wants the skinny on getting into Etsy and making money through it will not complain about the order of the chapters. They will be reading the book with pencil and paper in hand to take notes to help them get everything there is to get from the book. 5 stars!

Etsy 101 is probably the most comprehensive guides to selling your handmade crafts online.
I have been contemplating for quite some time about selling my own crafts. But have always been unsure of which approach to take and worried that I didn't have enough capitol for a start up.
Mr. Weber's book not only introduces readers to the concept of Etsy, a site dedicated to merchants selling their crafts online, but provides a wealth of knowledge and insight into what really goes into a successfully run and profitable Etsy shop. I now feel well prepared and confident enough to open an Etsy shop of my own.

Would most definitely recommend this book to any and all people interested in selling or purchasing handmade crafts.

Sincerely,
Anne K. Schmidt

Nice Compilation January 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a very nice compilation of basic info for setting up shop on Etsy. I highly recommend anyone new to selling on Etsy (or considering setting up an Etsy shop) read it.
I've been selling on Etsy for a couple of years now, and 99% of the info in the e-book was info I was already familiar with, though.
