"Etta Place: Her Life and Times With Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" by Gail Drago is a great overview of information concerning not only Etta, but also Butch and Sundance. The author has done her research well, citing the most current information known to date of these colorful outlaws. While she cannot really tell us who Etta Place is, she give us some food for thought on her character.
I would suggest this book to any fan of Etta, Butch, and Sundance. It is a great review of information that is solid.

Butch Cassidy is one of my lifetime interests. Etta's role in the legend of the Hole-in-the-Wall gang and Robber's Roost is not just your standard "gun moll" story. The possibilities of her origins and real name make this story unforgettable. Ms. Drago does a great job on the research. Her writing style takes a research project and delivers a true life mystery story. Of course, you have to take into account that these characters fascinate the hell out of me, but I could hardly put the book down without reading for hours. I re-read it cover to cover more than once. the book was lost to me in a house fire over the summer but it is on my list of must have/replace. Thank you Ms. Drago for your work.
