I received this flute (sold my Musician's Friend) with an extended 3 year warranty (available through MF). I think the warranty was a good idea. While nothing has broken on the flute, and it plays fine, this is not a solidly made instrument. It feels... 'less than expensive' with the construction being adequate, but not quality.

The case is plastic with plastic slide latches that work fine, but be gentle as they too are not built to last. The interior of the case is blue velvet material, protects and the flute fits fine in it. A polishing cloth is also included.

Good tone and easy action from this flute, but the reason for my 3-star review is that compared to other student/beginner flutes, this one is less substantial. For the long haul, get something else, but if you have a beginning flute player who needs to get started without a big expense, this flute is OK.

I am a sax player who was looking for an affordable flute to practice doubling on. I was not sure what to think about what I was getting for the price but wow this flute is amazing. It plays great and has a pleasent sound. It does feel a little cheap but if your cAreful that should not matter.. Get this flute !

I purchased the Etude EFL-110 flute for my teenage daughter. I enjoyed hers so much that I purchased a second one for Daddy!! The flute has a nice warm tone -- Even throughout both registers - Intonation is great - It has made it through a full year of school and I only had to tighten a screw in one of the pads. I love you amazon

The flute arrived on time, and upon opening it it seemed reasonable. But then at the very first lesson my daughter took it to, she discovered many notes don't work- seemed the air was escaping through pads that weren't sealing properly. Of course she was very disappointed. We ended up returning the flute and here I must say the the seller was very fair and accepted the flute for a complete refund

For the first year of school we rented a flute and it was very expensive once you add all the "extra's" and it kept breaking down which meant more trips to the store for replacements. This flute worked excellent this year and he will use it for next as well. Hundreds of $$'s cheaper than in the stores and the same quality. I love it and it sounds good as well.

Bought this for my 4th grader at the start of band this past school year and wanted to see how it held up before I wrote a review.
For us, this flute was a great purchase. It was cheap enough to buy outright with out being stuck in a monthly leasing contract.
The flute and case held up very well to the beating and banging it took. We also have had no issues with stuck keys or off sound keys that some other reviews mentioned.
I also wanted to note, that my daughter has super sensitive skin and the metal on this flute has not cause any skin reaction.
Overall, I am glad I purchased it for her.

One of my students brought me this flute to inspect. The handle on the case broke off immediately. I also had to make serious adjustments to the key mechanism so it would play. We are a rural school and a repair like that would have cost her the repair plus three hours of driving to get to a shop. It seems sturdy enough but the mechanism is quirky and I wonder how long it will hold an adjustment. I am not optimistic.
