Katie Langloh Parker has made an extensive study of the Euahlay tribe in Australia. Because she is a woman, she had a unique perspective in studying the women and children of the tribe. She was able to interact with the women in ways a male anthropologist could not do. From the introduction, ôThe two chief points in dispute are (1) the nature and origin of the marriage laws of the Australians; and (2) the nature and origin of such among their ideas and practices as may be styled 'religious.ö Mrs. Parker hoped to clarify these topics for the readers. This book is recommended for anyone interested in the anthropology of the native tribes in Australia.
