This 'lotion' works very well on my dry and itchy skin.
Wile E. Cayote
I tried really expensive cremes like Kiehl's and other high-end ones, but this one works well for me.
It has a very pleasant scent and absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving no greasy feeling behind.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
Having suffered from eczema on my fingers for years now, I jumped at the chance to evaluate this body cream by Eucerin.

- Fragrance and dye-free
- No steroids (which I guess I would not expect in a freely available product anyway but...)
- Rich. This is not a lightweight lotion but is definitely meant to be used on dry skin and provide long-lasting protection.
- Contains ingredients such as oatmeal and ceramides which are known to be beneficial to eczema-prone skin
- Also contains an ingredient I have not seen before, Licochalcone. I have researched this a bit and apparently this is an anti-inflammatory, antioxidative and antimicrobial substance, reduces redness and is calming (Sources are the Eucerin website and the website of the National Center for Biotechnology Information).

- Absorbency: This cream does not absorb all that well. It kind of sits on my skin a little bit and gives it an oily sheen. Not something I like but probably unavoidable since it is very rich.

In the past I have used CeraVe Moisturizing Cream with quite a bit of success. It also contains ceramides but absorbs into the skin much better. My other go-to product was/is First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream-2 oz. which contains oatmeal. So my experience with both ingredients has been positive.

The Eucerin Eczema Relief works well as a moisturizer on my skin but I will probably use it more at night because of the slow absorption into the skin (see Cons) and the location of my eczema on my fingers.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
Ok, full disclosure; I am a skin care professional. Well, not really, but I could be be. As a life time eczema sufferer, I think I qualify as an expert on this subject. So, when I see a product labeled as eczema relief, it better be good; it must pass a high standard to get my blessing. This stuff is actually pretty good. It goes on smooth, not greasy, yet does last a while, keeping my skin comfortable. I've used it on some irritated skin and there was no burning as can sometimes happen with lotions or creams. I have a slight preference to Aveeno Active Naturals, but this will be in my arsenal for sure.

If you have not read about the defective skin barrier theory of the root cause of eczema, please Google that. The idea is that eczema suffers have a defective skin barrier that lets moisture out and allergens in. Cermides, one of the active ingredients in this product are supposed to help solve that problem. Also, check out Epiceram, you will need an Rx, but it does have Rx strength cermides, and was revolutionary in managing my disease. Using this in conjunction with this Eucerin product might just get you to say good by to topical steriods. Of course, if you have a mild case eczema, this just might give you relief by itself. Try it.

I purchased this and Aveeno daily moisturing body wash that has colloidal oatmeal after seeing Dr. Oz. I got this for my 6 year old because she suffers from severe eczema all over her legs. She itched all the time so bad she would make herself bleed and she had bumps all over her legs. I have been using this for about 5 days now and her legs look normal and she doesn't itch anymore. It looks like her eczema is gone. She sees a doctor every month who has prescribed many creams that didn't work, told us to give her oatmeal baths which helped with the itching a little and prescribed oral medication. Her legs were so bad the doctor thought she might have scabies or that it was psychological. I love this. I had been using Aveeno eczema on her and it worked good at keeping her legs from itching and being really dry but it did not heal her eczema like this did. Also, I had to apply the Aveeno twice a day and this Eucerin only once a day and her skin would still look moisturized the next morning when I would reapply the Eucerin.

Update: My 6 year old had her visit with the doctor and he said her legs look great and he doesn't need to see her for a year unless she has a flare up. Her legs look even better since I wrote this review. Her legs look so healthy. I apply it every morning and immediately after baths.

I discovered this product on I have eczema, and have been using cortisone cream on it when it flares up. This winter, I had a persistent patch on the back of my right hand. I was running low on cortisone cream, and called the doctor for a refill. Without launching into a huge sob story, I made a bunch of phone calls, but my request got lost and the prescription didn't get refilled, so the eczema persisted. When I received this product and began using it, I saw a clear and marked reduction in the redness on my hand. After less than a week of use, the hand looks normal.

I am astonished that an over-the-counter product is so effective on my skin. I have had a problem with red and scaly patches on my skin pretty much since I could walk, and I would have loved to have discovered this product decades ago.
