Does what it is supposed to do,
By Jo King "Jo" (Seattle, WA) - See all my reviews

I read a lot bad reviews about the smell of this oil. Well, one of the things that make Eucerin great for sensitive skin is that they don't use any perfume. So it smells like oil, get over it. My skin is super sensitive and breaks out very easily whith rashes and hives even psoriasis at times. This is the only product that will help me, so I don't really care about the smell. It does what it is supposed to do, which in my case is to take care of my skin, not to make me smell like a flower.

Not for those just trying to relieve run-of-the-mill dry skin,

If you have plain old dry skin, or skin drier from tanning, use Dove or something similar. This is the heavy duty "real thing." I have eczema and this stuff is fantastic. Sure, it doesn't smell all fancy and nice but that's not what it is for, besides any odor it imparts does not stay with you. I use a "puff" and get plenty of lather so I don't know why other reviews say it does not lather. Using this with the Eucerin Calming Body Creme and my prescriptions seems to have things under control.

Drier and tighter skin... not the result I was hoping for,

I was very disappointed in EUCERIN CALMING BODY WASH. It comes out as an oil, which is nice. It doesn't lather but turns opaque as you massage it into your skin. I prefer more lather in a body wash, though I think it's more psychological than anything else. (Even though it's not necessarily accurate, I think I need the lather to feel clean.) I could have gotten past that, however (as the product does clean the skin), if the after-shower results were worth it. I used the wash several times when I had time to wait for an hour or so before slathering on lotion. Unfortunately, after washing with this product my skin actually feels drier and tighter than it does after washing with the oatmeal-based bar soap I was looking to replace. Like I said, very disappointing!

Great body wash,

This body wash is great for dry skin. You need to shake it before you use it, but I put it on my bath poof and it lathers just like a regular wash. As for the smell, it is kind of like the new smell of a car. It isn't a smell, but it is. The bottle says it is scent free. It doesn't bother me, and I don't have to use lotion after the shower when I use this.

My husband tried Eucerin Calming Body Wash and from the very first use found it to solve his itchy dry skin problem. Now I use it too and my skin is smoother and softer.

This product is great on the skin. It goes on nice and smooth. Keeps your body moisturized. The smell is not bad and does not smell like fish. It is for those who have dry skin.

I use it with a body brush, buy a shower gel with a good smell and mix it with the Eucerin Oil on the brush, it is great, soft skin and good smell, bye, bye itchiness

Disappointed,

I use Eucerin and Aquaphor products for my dry skin, so I was hopeful about this body wash. However, it's more of a body oil than a body wash, and the slight lather doesn't feel very cleansing or satisfying. Also, as others have said, it smells pretty bad. While it doesn't dry my skin out any further, I also haven't noticed any improvement in my dry skin.

Works great!,

Although this product doesn't smell very pleasant, however, it works great on my kids' skin. They both have really bad eczema. With this product, their skin is very smooth after each bath. I would recommend this product to anyone with dry skin. The product only smells funny in the bottle. Once in contact with the skin, it's unnoticeable.

They need to do something about the odor of this stuff, it smells like cod liver oil! Usually Eucerin products are pretty good & I was looking forward to trying this...I wound up throwing it away.
