Book Description

March 1, 2002 Capital Cares
From Eulogy to Joy is a unique, autobiographical anthology of thought-provoking personal stories shared from the hearts of people who are “experts” on bereavement because they have experienced grief firsthand in myriad situations: loss of children, siblings, parents, mates, relatives and friends through accidents, illness, suicide, murder and natural death. This gentle book provides comfort and reassurance that grief is intensely individual and, as such, all responses are appropriate. Through the words of 130 people the book reveals that, contrary to popular belief, we never “get over” the death of someone close and actually never should. Rather, death is a life-transforming experience to “get through” and eventually ‘grow through” to a place of inner peace and renewed joy.

We all face death in our life and not just own own demise. We lose beloved friends, family members, and pets. This book offers a wonderful gifts for those grieving - the wisdom of a shared experience and the push to start enjoying your loved ones in memory.

I found this book especially helpful last September. I do not know anyone personally who died in the Pentagon and World Trade Center, but I grieved just the same. Reading this book really helped me.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book helped me make it through a very difficult time., March 23, 2011
This review is from: From Eulogy to Joy: A Heartfelt Anthology (Capital Cares) (Paperback)
This book was very helpful to me. It was comforting to know I was not alone in my grief. In a way, reading this was more helpful than talking to friends and family because nobody said "everything happens for a reason". I could relate to each and every story.
