5.0 out of 5 stars YOU WANTED THE BEST, YOU GOT THE BEST, June 12, 2001
This review is from: Best Of Euphoria Dance Breakdown (Audio CD)
This is simply the best compilation of dance music. Welcome to a new millenium of music!

Everything here is perfectly mixed and as the album progresses it gets better and better. You never tire from this compilation and it always sounds fresh. Tracks such as "Natural Blues", "Welcome To The Dance", "Sandstorm", "Supernova" and Adelante" are the highlights but everything here is tuned to make you wanna rock the dance floor. Join the party and buy it NOW!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Memories, January 23, 2007
This review is from: Best Of Euphoria Dance Breakdown (Audio CD)
For some reason I've been pulled back to this one. There were a few cuts on it that I used to really like when it came out 6-7 years ago that I wanted to hear again. Weird. This really is 6 or 7 years old. Anyway, the 'Breakdown' releases were like a miniature, "radio edit" sort of version of the popular Euphoria trance series from the late 90's/early part of the 2000's. They did it with the Hard House series, their chillout albums and their regular Trance releases (and others). To me, it was pretty much Euphoria/BMG or Ministry of Sound that were jockeying for position at the time but oh how the mighty have fallen.

How does this one stack up? Well, there are at least 4 of the Euphoric Dance albums out, and I can't really comapre since I don't have them all. But I did like this one when it came out and IMO it is from a time when trance music was a bit more exploratory and, well, cool. This two disc set has popular trance songs from the early 90's to maybe 2001.. weird but I'm absolutely certain that I got this sometime in 2000 or 2001, not 2002. You've got some hard hitting popular artists from the "Ibiza" releases including Flickman, Moloko, loads form resident DJ Matt Darey, Alice Deejay, Tin Tin Out, William Orbit, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and a boatload more. Now, this one is IMO as canned as they come, but one interesting bit of fade work/song selection is, of course, with a French touch "Le Voie Le Soleil", an old remix done by Way Out West. Obnoxiously French.

Get it? Well, this is admittedly pretty dated now. As much as I liked it half a decade ago, the genre's changed and some of the music has gotten more refined, techniques changed and even fading made even more precise... all the guesswork out of putting out a trance set is take out thanks to technology but what made Euphoria stand out, IMO, is that sometimes their DJ's would create their own original pieces... they might have only been a minute, or a minute and a half, and they'd enhance mixing the sounds and elements of the music and make a more seamless transition from one song to the next. Matt Darey was notorious for this. So if you want to hear/remember what was big in England back 5-7 years, check this out and some other Euphoria releases.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 stars to Breakdown DJ's, September 3, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Best Of Euphoria Dance Breakdown (Audio CD)
This particular CD is one of the best mixes of house and trance music I have ever heard. The CD is amazing. The Breakdown CD I have is a box set, I do not know if this particular CD is the same but both CD's are great. Number 1 is a bit more mainstream but still good. I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys this type of music or DJ's.
