5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable
This is just an awesome cd. If you're having a party, you can play both of these CDs all night and everyone will be groovin. EVERYONE i've played this for has been asking me about it. Great if u like a trance sound w/out the repetition. By the way, if anyone knows of other cd's or dj's that have this sound, please email me...

While it is not bad, this mix just did not impress me. Although it gives you a good overview of the recent club hits, there aren't many great tracks here (although I must say that the the first tracks on both cds are incredible). It is good, accessible trance music, and yet something is missing. I just don't want to listen to it too much. Get earlier Euphoria CDs...

5.0 out of 5 stars the best trance cd ever. seriously., June 7, 2002

When I first got into trance a while back, I thought nothing could beat Paul Oakenfold's "Tranceport". I was proven wrong. This mix, the best I've heard thus far from the Euphoria series, is the true epitome of trance. Pure anthems, no filler. Disk1 starts off with Solar Stone's playful "Seven Cities" and moves through your various anthems until it comes up to the exclusive "Wizards Of The Sonic (Matt Darey Mix)" where all of your troubles are washed away. This track is absolutely brilliant, using a soulful vocal sample to intensify the sweet rhythms brought forth from one sweet synth line. A keeper. Towards the middle of the disk, it gets kind of vocal and mysterious, and tops off at the end with some more melodic trance. Disk2 starts off haunting and emotionitive with Chicane's "Saltwater" and moves through some darker corners of trance. It reaches a sonic orgasm as it hits M3's fabulous "Bailamos" which is about as energetic as things can get. The mix moves around and tweaks about before going into Sasha's classic "Xpander", which is not used to it's fullest impact, but works with bringing in a house-ier sound. The last few tracks are hard house, which differs from the previous tracks, but the vibe remains nonetheless. Both disks are great. I really can't say enough about this CD, except don't be afraid to pay a steep import price and BUY.

What can I say? This is one of the most moving trance compilations I have ever heard. And believe me folks, I have heard quite a few. It is so fortunate that Amazon.com has this available for purchase, because it is hard to find anywhere else. Believe me, I've looked.

Let's see... how do I describe this track listing? And what do i rate each track? This gets the highest rating on my chart... but I love moving, happy trance... In the same respect though, it is deep in a way too... deep in how it touches you, and never lets go.... I am a huge fan of Paul Oakenfold, and the European sound of trance.... but i must give respect to Matt Darey, cause he mixes these tracks together with the style of Paul, and the fury of Van Dyk... and he keeps you wanting to move... which is good!!!!

Let's sum up.... if you like trance at it's finest, no matter how many times you may have heard these anthems... GET THIS CD!!!! I think I've stressed that enough... now GET DANCIN'!

40+ reviews, 5 star average rating. 'Nuff said. Matt Darey does an expectional mixing job on these 2 discs. Worth the higher price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ibiza Bliss, August 11, 2001

This is the mix, that in my mind and many others, that put the Euphoria collection on the map. I am not a big fan of the regular Euphoria series, because I feel that the regular line fails to create any kind of atmosphere, and sounds like many other generic trance mixes with two many songs on them for commercial appeal. But I do think that disc one of level two is excellent by Red Jerry, and that disc two of level three is quite good as well, with the only other standout being disc two on level four by Matt Darey. Anyway, the Ibiza collection volumes one and two, capture a certain kind of tropical, balearic vibe, that I have yet heard on any other mix CD. This being said, this CD is by far the best trance/house mix on the market, and to me Matt Darey created a masterpiece that would be very hard to challenge. The mixing is flawless, with beats timed perfectly together. The song selection is nothing short of spectacular, and the all songs are quality lengths. What makes this slightly better than volume two is that 1999 was the year of trance. This summer season at Ibiza produced a ton of classic club tracks that are all featured on this album. These include "Everyday" by Agnelli and Nelson,"Carte Blanche" by Veracocha, "Everytime" by Lustral, "Seven Cities" by Solar Stone,"Red Sun Rising""Happiness Happening" by Lost Witness, "Cream" by Blank and Jones, and the list goes on and on. Almost every song on here is a classic in it's own right, and you've probably heard most of the melodies on other compilations at one time or the other. But the most important thing about these CD's, this one and volume two by Alex Gold and Robbie Nelson, is that they create a special vibe that will make you feel, no matter where you are, that you are on Ibiza watching the sunrise on the beach or dancing the night away in some super club. This is a must have for your collection, and there is no possible way you could be disappointed. Buy it right now, then go get volume two.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible CD!, January 10, 2001
This review is from: Euphoria: Ibiza (Audio CD)
I was rather skeptical before buying this CD. I looked around the record store and found what looked like to be a jamming electronic/dance/techno compilation at the listening post. I had never heard of Matt Darey at the time and, well...I took a listen right there at the store and was taken by total surprise on how AWESOME Matt Darey was at mixing the tracks. The continuous beats will really get your blood flowing! It was well worth the money. This is the best trance compiliation CD I own, and it makes the many others that I already have sound primitive. Any techno/dance junkies should stop reading this and buy it :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Oh My God!, February 10, 2004

This is the best freakin' trance cd I've ever heard! Matt Darey, has created perfection. Starting with, "Seven Cities", it has a steady beat and nice harmony and synth. Blending into the next track called, "Everyday" also nice synth sounds like a shooting star. Things pick-up pace with the excellent, "Madagascar", it has this rising pace and excellent bass. Things mellow out with a nice female vocal of "Red Sun Rising". The pumping picks up again with the mesmerizing and beautiful, "Wizards of the Sonic". Another amazing vocal track has to be "Liberation", which is up beat and has a euphoric sound, with a pounding beat! CD 1 is excellent. There's just so many excellent tracks.
Now on to CD 2. We have, "Saltwater" which begins very steady and builds up by gradually adding layers of beautiful sounds and a sweet vocal. Picking up in, "Invisible", which has an excellent bass, which is then seemlessly combined with the fantastic "Strings for Yasmin", it has a pulsating beat and breath-taking background sound effects. Both Cds are Amazingly good, they are the best tracks in trance and have been seemlessly fused together with excellent vocals, ambient sounds and relentless beats. Like a ballad, just dancing together in harmony, they pulsate. Euphoria Ibiza is by far the best two cd set out there. You'll notice other record labels started using the tracks here trying to imitate "Euphoria", but they don't come close to mixing them well. Mr. Matt Darey, take a bow...you have achieved perfection!

These 2 CDs are probably the best CDs I own. They are not only "euphoric" but highly therapeutic and relaxing. You can listen to these CDs no matter what you are doing-writing, reading, etc. and you can listen to them again and again and again. I have listen to them countless times since I bought them when they originally came out in 1999. You will never get bored with them. They make you feel like you are a million miles away from all of your problems. Simply Awesome!!! Buy these CDs!!!

OK...here's the scoop. BUY THIS CD!!!!!! Ithink that says it all, but i will continue.

If you LOVE progressive trance (like I do) then you will look no further than this compilation. It is the finest compilation out on the market... HANDS DOWN. The other Euphoria albums are good too, but this one bangs even more than all the rest. Darey is a surprising mixologist, and he weaves the tracks together flawlessly, and I seriously can't stop moving when I pop this into my CD player.

As for the house tracks at the end of CD 2.... I think they work, and we as smart listeners must realize that this is an Ibiza compilation.... and what do they listen to more on Ibiza??? I can tell you it isn't trance.....

In retrospect..... BUY THIS CD.... BUY THIS CD..... BUY THIS CD OUT
