5.0 out of 5 stars A Unique Mix From A Notable DJ

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the usual Ferry
I have to admit Im a huge Ferry fan,but this 2 disc set just doesnt do it for me.This is alot calmer than im used to.With the exception of a few songs, the entire album is kinda boring, and totally different from the rest of his albums.I remember after watching the "Right of Way"DVD he said that he will no longer be doing mixed compilations and will focus more on "studio"...

5.0 out of 5 stars A Unique Mix From A Notable DJ, October 13, 2004
This review is from: Euphoria: Infinite Mixed (Audio CD)
Ferry Corsten's "Infinite Euphoria" is, in many ways, a perfect example of the style and uniqueness of the "Euphoria" series wherein its overall tempo is slightly below that of club-setting level and its choice of music is more representative of a variety in a specific genre. This compilation in particular should be enjoyed in a setting where one is slowing down from the effects of bass-rich tracks played during a full-on rave session and relying on an above-average audio system. Although I have never been a fan of Corsten's mixes in the past, I am nonetheless drawn to the first CD in this compilation increasingly as I listen to it more and am now fully convinced of Corsten's ingenuity and masterfulness throughout this CD. Highly recommended for individuals who are seeking something more calming and less pounding than typical rave club tracks!

4.0 out of 5 stars Only Ferry can pull this off!, November 28, 2004

As a Ferry fan, I pretty much had no choice but pick up a copy of this CD even though my previous purchase by him was a bit disappointing. ( Side note: "Right of Way", his artist album, had tracks that did not flow with each other along with a couple of complete bombs.)

This CD is quite different from anything I heard by Mr. Corsten. The music is not meant to drive the dancefloor crazy-- in fact, the first disk can almost be considered a chill-out music had it not picked up the tempo in the last few tracks. The second CD... Wow. When I first saw that the Adagio for Strings is immediately followed by Prodigy's "Smack my b!tch up," I first wanted to skip that part. However, the two songs that have nothing in common are combined together beautifully just like the rest of the CD. So, why not 5 stars? I am a bit picky, so hearing yet another instance of the "As the Rush Comes" was a bit too much for me. It is a gorgeous song but it seems to appear on almost every trance compilation in the past 2 years after Tiesto put it on his Nyana mix.

And my friends,no there's no cheese on this CD. Ferry has matured nicely.

5.0 out of 5 stars A PERFECT PIECE, September 2, 2005
This review is from: Euphoria: Infinite Mixed (Audio CD)
IN THE PAST I HAVE FOUND CORSTEN'S CD'S A BIT OVERLONG AND RAMBLING TO NOWHERE; LOT'S OF GOOD CUTS, BUT LACKING IN ORGANIZATION AND DIRECTION, THUS, FOR ME, LARGELY FORGETABLE. THE EXCEPTION WOULD BE, "WORLD TOUR: WASHINGTON," WHICH I LIKED A GREAT DEAL. WITH THIS CD,CORSTEN SHOWS WHAT HE HAS THE CAPACITY TO BE AND I HAVE FOUND MYSELF PLAYING IT FOR MONTHS, REPEATEDLY. IT HAS ALL THOSE ELEMENTS OF MOODINESS, MAGIC AND MYSTICISM, THAT I LOVE, AS WELL AS RHYTHMS THAT DEFINITELY KEEP ME SHAKING MY BOOTY. IT IS AN ALBUM WONDERFUL TO KICK BACK AND LISTEN TO AS WELL; EVERY CUT GRABS MY ATTENTION. UNLIKE HIS OTHER CDS, I FIND THIS ONE WELL PUT TOGETHER AND SMOOTH IN ITS FLOW. I MIGHT EVEN SAY THAT THIS IS THE FIRST CORSTEN CD THAT IS JUST NOT LONG ENOUGH. I HOPE FOLKS WILL MAKE THIS A VERY POPULAR ONE. AMAZON IS RIGHT TO CLASS THIS WITH VAN BUUREN'S WORKS AS WELL AS MARKUS SHULZ AND ANY OF TIESTOS, "IN SEARCH OF SUNRISE," SERIES.

I HOPE CORSTEN DOES MORE LIKE THIS. IF SO, HE HAS A NEW LOYAL FAN AND NOT ONE THAT, AS IN THE PAST, JUST BEARS HIM POLITELY.

2.0 out of 5 stars takes a few listens to get used to.., September 15, 2004
This review is from: Euphoria: Infinite Mixed (Audio CD)
at first i was disappointed, but the more chances i gave the cd's the more i grew into them. 2nd disk has some good tracks and finishes well but the wait is too long and the good tracks that make up the closing are too few. im a huge fan of ferry's, not his best, but worth a listen.
