5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely spellbinding!
I have listened to this CD several times over and everytime I listen to it, it adds a completely new dimension to music. A perfect piece to be enjoyed either alone or in company. If I could, I would allocate more than five stars to it. I strongly urge all New Age music lovers to buy this CD!

3.0 out of 5 stars Different, but a bit vapid.
There is some interesting music on this CD. I might license some of it for a movie, but this really isn't the type of music you would listen to by itself. It's just too simplistic. In fact, it almost sounds like an hour of someone playing around on an expensive synthesizer. However, it did catch my attention. So, give it a listen. Please note, this is not the...

In fact, it almost sounds like an hour of someone playing around on an expensive synthesizer. However, it did catch my attention. So, give it a listen. Please note, this is not the "new" flamenco music that Ottmar Liebert is better known for.

4.0 out of 5 stars A spicy bang for your buck..., June 2, 2002

In general, all album cuts here have a spicy, yet cosmopolitan texture. Playing this CD at your parties will communicate to your guests you have good taste in musical entertainment. I would urge anyone who enjoys club or rhythmic electronic music to own this CD, particularly since it is so modestly priced. I am not the Liebert fan in my household, but there is one among us, and therefore I hear (then listen) to just about every one of his releases regularly. Euphoria sticks out with me, however, as a very tantilizing departure from Liebert's home turf. After listening to Euphoria, I gained a greater respect for Liebert as an artist because here he has proven he can sucessfully create music in many other directions. In terms of orchestration, there is also a departure from the norm here as these cuts feature more synthesizers than we normally get with Liebart. Both cuts entitled "Havana Club" are irrestible dance pieces (and may be effectively considered as separate pieces). Lone Rider A and B are downright dub/trance pieces, very well done and unexpected. "Lush" (which opens and closes the CD) is a wonderfully voiced electronic instrumental with a beat, synthesizer effects, and a decent melody. Although my decriptions sound diverse, these cuts do belong on the same album. Consider that I have frequent access to Liebart's albums, this is the only one which I have decided to own outright.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD to drive to!, April 9, 1999
By A Customer

While more exotic and upbeat than some earlier works, this is still some smokin' stuff from Ottmar Liebert and Luna Negra! It's great stuff to drive to -- especially Lone Rider! It's got a great groove, very spirited and lush. Pure fun!

What you might appreciate knowing - & what I didn't know - is that this is really not so much Ottmar Liebert as it is dance-club style REMIXES of his stuff. "All songs R taken from... 'The Hours Between Night + Day.'" Not even much musical variety (3 of the CD's 4 compositions are repeated in edited versions, if you didn't get your fill the first time around). Ya don't get much for yer buck. Comes off sounding very club, not very Ottmar, to those of us who have his earlier releases. Not easy listening, no, nor new agey. Not even very much guitar... Odd, for someone who writes that he "is the instrument, the guitar is the amplifier." (Don't ask me who the player is! Especially on this CD.) I'd say, on Euphoria, those are just raw ingredients for someone else to make a stew of. Fine, if you happen to like the cook... in these cases, the remixes are by Steve Hillage & Aki Nawaz of England, and Steve Be Zet of Germany. For me, although dressed up with all the bells & whistles, it's still fluff music - nice melodies but not very interesting or challenging to the ear more than once. But I guess if you're in a "club" frame of mind, you're not thinking about those kinds of things, are you?
