Sunsets over Santa Monica...Blade Runner On The Beach...Bono serenading you on the pitch at Wembley Stadium... it couldn’t be further from the east end of Glasgow and yet, for Glasvegas, the spirit remains the same: passion. Since their debut eponymous masterpiece in September 2008 (critically-lauded, platinum-selling, Mercury Prize nominated in 2009), the Glaswegian four-piece have seen ... Editorial Reviews

2011 sophomore album from the Scottish Alt-Rock band, the eagerly anticipated follow-up to their critically acclaimed eponymous debut album. Euphoric Heartbreak contains 11 tracks which were written, demoed and tracked in Santa Monica. Recorded in London with producer Flood, the album sees the band recapture their atmospheric anthemic sound whilst moving in new directions both musically and lyrically. Contains the single "Euphoria, Take My Hand".

4.0 out of 5 stars Nearly as good as the self titled April 28, 2011
Format:Audio CD
I loved the first album, and I already love this one. The only thing that isn't as strong on this record is the mood of melancholy, which I thought was delivered so perfectly with the first album. On the other hand, Euphoric does do a better job of keeping momentum until the end of the album.

Bottomline: this is an excellent album. If you enjoyed the first, you will enjoy this.

5.0 out of 5 stars No Sophomore Slump Here!!! April 6, 2011
By Freden
Format:MP3 Music
I found out about these guys when they were touring with the Kings of Leon in 2009. If you liked their first Album "Glasvegas", you'll love Euphoric /// Heartbreak \\\!!

This band has a very unique sound, and it carries on to their second album. It's hard to compare anyone with a similar sound...It's a very emotional record discussing things such as old friends, an uncle's suicide, and more. You can read the track by track listing on the NME's blog:

Take a listen, and you'll be impressed.

This album gives me the feels. I like it, it is good. Sometimes I sit in the dark in my old oak rocking chair and move to the music. I am old.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Album September 1, 2011
Format:MP3 Music
I loved the track, "Daddy's Gone," from a few years ago, and they have moved on to change the sound of this album. It grabbed me from the first listen and I love the sound that Flood brought to this record as the producer. The album is a cathartic experience and does have a bit of an 80's sound (my bloody valentine, DM) without being stuck in that genre. The standout track is "Euphoria," but there's much more to savor here.

4.0 out of 5 stars A real grower June 20, 2011
Format:MP3 Music
Impressive effort. James has been listening alot to Depeche Mode's Violator album. Hence the dark sonics and Flood production. There is also My Bloody Valentine in there. Not as immediate as the first album but a real grower.

4.0 out of 5 stars An amazing second album June 10, 2011
Format:Audio CD
This is a great second album. You can tell how this band has improved. Producer Flood made a great contribution and it shows.
Highly recommended!
