While surfing the net for music, I found The Main Ingrediants Greatest Hits. After Reading the songs on the compilation, I found that it was lacking, as many other greatest hits compilations do, many of the groups best songs.
Then I found The Main Ingrediants CD Euphrates River. This is an
album that I wore out in high school. Not only is the music great, the songs contain great lyrics. This is plain old good music. Not only are their versions of Summer Breeze, California My Way, Just Don't Want To Be Lonely, and Don't You Worry Bout A Thing different and unique from the originals, they stood on their own as great songs. They don't even remind you of the original artists version. Some might say The Main Ingrediants versions were the best.
Happiness Is Just Around The Bend and Have You Ever Tried It For Yourself will make any music lover any age want to get up and dance.
The lead singer Cuba Gooding Sr. the father of Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding Jr. has one of the unique and smooth voices
in R&B history, and The Ingrediants background vocals are as smooth as silk.
If you want to hear some great music, I highly recomend this CD.

I have literally been looking for this CD for over 10 years and was thrill to finally find it. The sound quality is fantastic and I totally enjoy listening to it. If you once owned this in vinyl and would like to recapture the memories, I highly recommend this one!

I've been looking for this The Main Ingredient album, since CDs became the standard for Music collectors (middle-end of the 1980s). Since then, I travelled 2 or 3 times to the States, visited a lot of CD/Music shops, with no result.

Finally, I had to buy this Japanese issue for about 30 bucks. But it's worth the price: the sound quality is very good, and a lot of wonderful songs are included: Extraordinary Seals & Crofts' soul versions of "Euphrates" and "Summer Breeze", Stevie Wonder's "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing", and other beautiful songs like "Looks Like Rain".
Of course, their superhit "Happiness Is Just Around The Bend" (it sounds beautiful in this Jap CD!!!) is also included, as well as "Just Don't Want To Be Lonely".
Certainly, it costs a lot, but if you go crazy for 70s Soul, this Cd is "must-have" for your collection!

Simply the best album this band ever did. Every song is a winner, so it is strange to find so few of it's tracks on the hits/best of compilations. Buy it and die happy.

I have been looking for the perfect soul album and this is it. The album is perfectly arranged and each track is clear. The vocals by Cuba Gooding are amazing. The rendition of summer breeze is 10x better than the isley brothers version! The entire album is amazing. The best thing is that neither of my parents have this album, I was born in 81' and i beet them to this! HAHAHAHAHAHA

I've searched for this album for a long time. It's an old favorite of mine. It's still as wonderful as it was when I was growing up. Thanks for such great music.

This is easily my favorite album by the Main Ingredient. Every song on this album was on point. And plus, i think the album cover is one of the best i've ever seen. It illustrates such beauty. I'm glad to have finally gotten a hold of it on cd. I already own two copies of the album.
