Sooo efficient on cat litter!,
By Lisa M Davies (Brentwood, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Eureka 164D Quick-Up Stick Vacuum (Kitchen)
I originally picked this up for quick touch-ups, under the table after the kids eat, after day in the sand, etc. I found it works even better on my half-bath floor, the one with the litter box it! The head is small enough to fit around the toilet base, and dosen't kick the cat litter around like my full size vacum does.

It's a super BROOM!,
By Carol (Indianapolis, Indiana) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Eureka 164D Quick-Up Stick Vacuum (Kitchen)
This is not a vacuum cleaner! It is an automatic broom. It does almost as good of a job as a real broom. If you're Martha Stewart, stick with the real thing and mop afterward. If you have significantly lower standards and less time, this is a great inbetween tool to use to quickly pick up bits of stuff off your hardwood, tile or linoleum floors so barefooting it isn't a disgusting experience. You'll still need to sweep and mop every so often, but I assure you that emptying the dust cup is not nearly the pain in the butt that the "squat to use the dustpan" manuever is. I love my superbroom!

Not for carpets,
By A Customer
This review is from: Eureka 164D Quick-Up Stick Vacuum (Kitchen)
This vacuum is okay for bare floors (although you have to empty the dust cup every frequently) but don't even think about using it on area carpets or if you have animal hair on area rugs. It doesn't even budge anything that isn't loosely laying on top of the surface you're vacuuming.

I really like my super broom, I have a black lab. and he sheds a dog a day on my carpets and my super broom gets it up.. I do my 9x 12 rug and i fill the cup up with hair so i have to say it does the job for me,for quick jobs its great .. beats taking out the big vac. 1 drawback wish it had a better filtering system.

I just bought the Eureka Superbroom and I can not say enough about it. It works so well on tile. Very light, yet powerful and extremely easy to use. I love it!

Does what it says, but bad concept,
By Book Lover (Ontario) - See all my reviews

This little vac works exactly like it says, but after one use, I've decided a broom or mop is much easier!
I have no carpeting on my second floor, where we have a bedroom and a home office, and a long-haired cat. Weekly or so, I sweep using a broom and dust pan. About every other week, I go over it again using a mop with a flat, rectangular head and removeable washable terry cloth cover. I spritz it with a little water just to dampen slightly, and it does a great job picking up the really fine dust particles. Of course, with either a broom or a mop, I must manually remove the crud and dump it into the waste can. My friend couldn't believe I cleaned in this old fashioned way, so upon her insistence, I got one of these Eureka stick vacs. It did an excellent job of sucking up both the cat fur and the fine particles. It was lousy in the corners, so I still had to use the broom along the edges. I'm 5'10" so after 2 rooms, my lower back was aching...though quite light, it's not as light as a broom or mop and the center of gravity is odd. Also, a 15 foot cord didn't sound too short for my small house, but it is...fortunately I have outlets on every wall as I had to replug it 4 times to reach everything. Having read other reviews, I wisely took the thing outside to empty because when I pulled the lid off the canister I was enveloped in a cloud of fine dust particles, like someone had just shaken a dust rag in my face. Through teary eyes and sneezing I washed the filter and hung it up to dry, then wiped down the body of the canister. Today I'm packing it back up and hoping the store will accept a return. Not only did it take me twice as long to complete the job because of having to deal with unplugging and replugging the cord, but cleaning out the canister was worse than simply sweeping into a dust pan. At the very best, it is no time savings whatsover, and I feel I had to handle the dirt more than I do with my old broom and mop.

eureka quick-up stick vacuum,
This review is from: Eureka 164D Quick-Up Stick Vacuum (Kitchen)
i first used this vacuum in florida at a cottage we rented. i loved it. when i came home, i went on-line and purchased one myself. i let my 78 year old mother use it and she also loved it. it is so light and easy to use. in fact when i got this email to review the item, it reminded me that i have to get one for my mom. so after this review, i am going to do that right now. great service. arrived quickly. you can't go wrong with this vacuum. trust me!!!!
ps: the cottage we stayed at in florida was right on the beach and it picked up all that fine sand perfectly.

Does the Job!,

This review is from: Eureka 164D Quick-Up Stick Vacuum (Kitchen)
I was looking for something like a handheld dust vac on a stick that I could whip out and use daily on bare floors only. This is exactly that. No more, no less. It does a good job in the kitchen, bathroom and anywhere there is tile. Gets edges pretty well, too. The only 2 things I would change would be:
1.include a loop for which to hang it up 2.make it cordless (but only if it held a solid charge longer than 15 min) I really like this thing and would not hesistate recommending it.

Works fine on laminate floors...,
By Nate M. (Oklahoma City, OK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Eureka 164D Quick-Up Stick Vacuum (Kitchen)
I recently changed out the carpet in favor of laminate wood. This little vacuum works perfectly for everyday pickup of dirt, grass and dog hair. The only drawback is the short cord, which was quickly solved with a 25-foot power-tool rated extension cord.

I had envisioned something bigger, but this guy is really small - basically a slightly overblown handvac with a small handle. At 5'10", I found I even had to stoop to vacuum my floor, and since the cord was so increadibly short, found myself having to replug it a lot even in my small studio apartment. It seems to have a lot of suction, but it would only earn my recommendation if it were a bit more substancial.
