Powerful and lightweight, the Maxima Upright Vacuum makes quick work of household-wide carpets, rugs, and floors, and handles like a champ on stairs. Unlike most other brands, Eureka's Maxima features an on-board Power Paw Stair Brush that deep-cleans stairs and upholstery, dislodging and sucking up embedded pet hair and other stalwart debris. A stretch hose and extra long cord extend your reach far, so there's no knocking the unit over while trying to reach that piece of lent two steps away. Plus, Maxima's no-tip design and anti-clog hose ensures reliable above-floor cleaning. Best of all, Eureka's micro-filter cleans the air while you vacuum for pristine floors and healthier lungs, too! --Brian Olson

I'm not saying there isn't a place for bagless cleaners, but I got tired of the mess. So I ordered this upright with bags and I love it! The bags are much easier to change now - a snap -, it's light, cleans great. Best of all- I can store it in my clothes closet because it is so clean (the dirt is IN the bag, not on the cleaner). The bags and hepa filter are cheap. When I figured it would cost me about $18 to get a new belt for my old vac - I thought I might as well buy a new one. So glad I did. A great bonus is the POWER PAW...what a maniac that attachment is - the brush roller is great for pet hair and stairs.
PS- After using this vac a while love it even better. It performs so well and doesn't scatter the dog hair so that you have to chase it like some vacs. It just sucks it right up. I knew Eureka was great because I have an old Bravo upstairs that's still going strong. I had a little problem with an attachment and they sent me another one (even better one) right away. Yesterday I was in Walmart and they had a similar one for twice the money.
Thanks Amazon and Eureka.

I work at Sears and we sell Eureka Maxima 2904AZ . I purchased this since it was on sale and i get a 10% discount with my employee card, I also pruchased along with the Eureka an MRA ( merchandise replacement agreement) good for only one time replacement. I had to return the vacuum after two uses, it got very loud, noisy and something was rattling inside which made the vacuum vibrate, also the suction was weak ( wouldn't clean much), I checked the bag and it wasn't full. I repaced the Eureka 2904AZ with the same Eureka, brand new in box. It worked ok for a few weeks, but it too got loud and noisy, it's suction is also weak, it doesn't pick up the cat litter it only scatters it everywhere, so, i have a bigger mess to clean up. out comes the old trusty broom and dust pan. I have been using the broom and dust pan for a while now, but in the meantime I'm looking for a top of the line vacuum that has an excellent suction, picks up cat litter (not throwing it around), and also is quiet ( not like it is reving an engine to go up in orbit). I know enough now to research first, not buy on impulse.

It is a decent vacuum for the price and has the basic extensions for cleaning crevices, upholstery, etc. Good suction and brush speed. It feels a little cheap and light, but some people might think that's good if they spend a lot of vacuuming. I do not have a lot of living space to vacuum, so I can not speak to the durability when doing a whole house. It has been working for about 2 years now without any problems though...

I started using this product around Nov 11. 2006. I loved it. The stairs attachment was a real plus. Worked better than an extention. Lightweight and had great suction. About 3-4 weeks after I bought it I realized it needed a new bag already. They are a lot smaller than my old Hoover thus they hold less. The bags are not that cheap either. Around $1.50 a piece even in mulitples. End of Dec. it stopped picking stuff up. It seemed to have ok suction but it would barely pick up a piece of lint without going over and over it. Took it apart as best I could. Found nothing broken, bag was empty and the air filter wasn't clogged. Called the 800 number to Eureka. Get message with places in your area to contact about repairs. No person to possibly help me trOubleshoot over the phone. I contact the repair shop which is the next city over about 10 miles 1 way. Drag it into the car, out again then push it down a busy downtown block to get it into the shop. Repaimen are busy. Takes awhile to get waited on. The 1st guy is writing up a repair slip when another comes. He decides to unscrew the top off while I'm there then finds the belt was all stretched out thus making the roll bar area not have much suction. He belittles me saying I'll show you vacuum repairs 101 and then shows me the belt. I didn't understand why it would be that way as it was only 2 months old. He looked on the box and said the vacuum was made in June 2006 and that the belt's can stretch while just sitting! Alrighty then. Fixed it and I bought 3 new bags. Cost me $8.75 and a trip across town. Working ok again so far.
