Couldn't ask for more,

I looked for weeks for a cheap vacuum that would do a decent job around my apartment and suck up my dog's hair that's on the furniture. This one has exceeded my expectations! I got it at Costco for $90 and it came w/ an extra set of filters as a bonus. Costco is the way to go w/ appliances and electronics because you can return it ANY time w/ no questions asked. I will not be returning this any time soon! The vacuum is light and easy to use. It has great suction and the edge cleaner to the right of the main brushes really gets the sides. It empties very easily and pulls all the dirt and dust into one ball for a very clean job. The filters are visible through clear plastic, so it's easy to see when they need to be cleaned. A simple rinse of the foam filter keeps the dust out very well! My favorite feature in this vacuum is the powered brush attachment that comes with it. It works just like a normal vacuum brush and pulls dog hair and dust off anything. I used it in my car and it did great on the carpet in there too. The brush attachment is great for smooth surfaces because it captures all the dust and small pieces w/o scratching anything. It was great for the leather and plastic parts in my car. The duster brush that comes with it is useful, but not spectacular. It holds the dust well and cleans off easily w/ the flip of a switch.

Do NOT buy this vacuum, unless you want to waste your money on something that throws all the dirt and dust back at your feet. I've had this vacuum for about 3 months now, religiously cleaned the filters, and it just belches dirt and dust everywhere it goes. One of the worst purchases I've made.

The world's most expensive dirt mover,
This review is from: Eureka 2996AVZ Altima Bagless Upright Vacuum (Kitchen)
I have never regretted buying anything as much as this vacuum "cleaner". It excels only in moving around dirt and dust, it clogs and is rendered useless after only 1 use even though the dirt receptor is not even close to being filled. The duster and powerpaw attachments are a joke. I wish that 0 stars was an option. I kid you not that it is now in the dumptster where it belongs.

I have had this vacuum for about 6 months and am very displeased with it. (1) like previous users have commented, it spits dirt and small particals out the back (2) works horrible on bare floors - you might as well just vacuum by hand with one of the attachments (3) the attachment for upholstery/stairs broke and will no longer suction - after about 1 month of use. (4) As of 1 month ago, it has become un-usable. The belts continuously break; any time it is started up, within 10 seconds the whole house is filled up with smoke -- it literally set off the smoke detectors; it makes a horriblly LOUD churning sound; and I have noticed that part of the inside plastic cover has been burnt beyond repair from heat from the motor. I am very disappointed because I take very good care of my vacuums and never mis-use them. I have been trying for the past month to repair it but finally got so frustrated, I got online to look up consumer reports on this Eureka. NOW I understand what is wrong with mine...it's just a piece of sh** b/c everyone else is having the same type of problems with it too. I will NEVER buy another Eureka

This vacuum has a problem after it has it has been used a while. It clogs after a few weeks use. I cannot recommend it. Buy something else. Eureka, get your products right! Test them first for a month or more to see how they work. This one spits dirt back when used a month or more.

To Suck or Not to Suck...,
This review is from: Eureka 2996AVZ Altima Bagless Upright Vacuum (Kitchen)
DO NOT BUY THIS VACUUM CLEANER!!!!! It worked great after one use. I am now looking for a new vacuum cleaner. It throws dirt around rather than sucks it up. I wouldn't even donate this one to charity, that is how bad it really is.

I thought it worked great, too, until about 5 days into owning it. Then it started kicking dirt out the back when on bare floors, like one of the other reviewers said. If you vacuum in shorts you'll feel it spitting stuff onto your legs - it's a very unpleasant and rediculous thing to have happen. I bought the Hoover Savvy - we'll see how that one works. If not, I'll have to pony up for one of the serious ones.I will NEVER buy Eureka again.

I bought this today from Costco for 99.00 and easily assembled it with the instructions in about 10 minutes. I started to vacuum my house and was absolutley amazed at how much it was picking up, and how much my old one left behind. About 5 minutes after I started the hepa filter & cover came flying off the front of the vacuum. I put it back on double checking it, and emptied the dirt and cleaned the foam filter. I started again and the hepa filter flew off within 30 seconds. It just won't stay on any longer. I also found that the tube extension for the hose fell of alot, so I turned it over thinking I had it on upside down, but only to find it came off again very easily.Bottom line, I love the way it cleans, but with parts falling off the first 10 minutes I am going to return it to Costco tomorrow to try another model or brand.

I was always told that Eureka was a good brand and I loved the features of this vacuum! It was cheap enough so I bought it online from walmart for $99 plus shipping since this model is only avalible online. I purchased it 6 months ago and the first month was great, I actually loved it. After that first month it's usless! If you have ANY kind of sand or dirt in your carpet, it will do nothing than toss it back at your feet and spread it around. I thought if I cleaned all the filters it would help, it didn't. The duster spinner is also useless, doesn't even suck the dirt off of that!Don't waste your time or money on this one, spend the extra $ and get something good! In my opinion, a vacuum with a bag. I have had 3 bagless vacuums in a years time and every one of them you have to get the dirt on your hands at some point in time weather if it's cleaning the filter(s) and or the bucket that holds the dirt that just flys everywhere and you have to vacuum that area again! I will be buying a bagged vacuum cleaner from now on!!

2 Dogs, 2 Cats 'Nuff Said!!,
I just purchased this vacuum because my old Hoover had been been slowly coming to the end of its journey for a few weeks now. I have four animals and the pet hair all around was getting very hard for me to handle. It was floating around the house in balls like tumbleweed and my old vacuum just was'nt doing the trick! I must tell you that I really did want the Dyson AC14 Animal, but was convinced otherwise by the man who was paying for it :) This vacuum is not only affordable ($99.99 at Best Buy), but it works like a charm! The pet hair on my rug and couch was sucked into the cup like a cyclone and made it look like I had not vacuumed in years, The attachments are great and the cup is beyond easy to clean. There is a dusting wand that makes my cleaning much easier and it self-cleans with the switch of a button. I also love the fact that it has a hepa filter, which makes it great for people with allergies or those whose animals leave extra dust and dander in the house. My only complaint about the vacuum is that it is not lightweight so going up and down steps gives you a workout, which is good for me but may not be for others. I would definitely recommend this vacuum to anyone not wanting to spend a fortune but still wanting great results! Besides ladies would'nt you rather spend that extra few hundered dollars on a great pair of shoes!!
