5.0 out of 5 stars I can't say enough good things about this vaccuum!
I never thought I would want a canister vaccuum. My mother had one and the canister would fall over and it was a pain to drag around. But then my husband and I pulled up the rugs and put in hardwood floors and area rugs and it was a pain in the neck to have to dry mop the floor parts and what to use on the carpet? I bought an electric broom, carpet sweeper and a stick...

2.0 out of 5 stars Basic vacuum cleaner - no luxury here!
Even for a basic vacuum cleaner I would expect all tools to fit 'on board' and the electric lead to roll up mechanically, not to have to roll it up by hand and fit underneath. The main suction head may be ok for carpets but not very friendly for hardwood floors since it only has 2 very small & thin strips of that red velvety material, that don't stop the head from...

I bought an electric broom, carpet sweeper and a stick vac and none of them did an adequate job. So I read the helpful reviews on here and I got this vaccuum!

And I can not say enough good things about it. It doesn't fall over because the back wheels are huge, they move smoothly to follow you around. the cord is long. It is easy to switch from carpet to bare floor and it comes with a ton of attachments. It easily gets under dressers and into areas that you could never get an upright! You just pick up the hose and put it behind the furniture or lay it down and do under! You can easily do the couch cushions! I will NEVER go back to an upright.

And with this one there are no bags!! The filter is easy to clean! It picks up everything on the first swipe and gets deeply into the thick, plush area rug in our family room! And with two toddlers and two dogs, there are a lot of spills and messes and it works great! I can do my whole house with this one very lightweight, compact, easy to store vaccuum!

I LOVE IT!!!!!!

Even for a basic vacuum cleaner I would expect all tools to fit 'on board' and the electric lead to roll up mechanically, not to have to roll it up by hand and fit underneath. The main suction head may be ok for carpets but not very friendly for hardwood floors since it only has 2 very small & thin strips of that red velvety material, that don't stop the head from scraping the floor. The suction hole in the head is very small, what a waste of space - needless to say it doesn't suck very well! It would also have been very useful to have the extension parts fit into one extendable tube, instead of having 3 separate parts... Well, I guess I've been spoilt with my Miele the last 10 years... Unfortunately we moved from the UK to the USA and had to leave it behind...

4.0 out of 5 stars No spinduster, October 27, 2003

While the vacuum has lots of suction it is not too easy to use as the floor tool pulls off center. The spinduster was listed as an accessory so I ordered it. It does not work with this model Eureka.

Never did try the machine since the attachment area for the hose was defective making it impossible to even test run the vacuum.

1.0 out of 5 stars didn't work and I was futile to return it, December 14, 2004
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Eureka 3690BV Bagless Cyclonic Canister Vacuum (Kitchen)
I opened the box up to test it before giving it as a gift. No worko, nothing. I had ordered it 55 days earlier and I am now stumbling through amazon-madness to find out how to return this thing, there's no ph#, no link to return it like the items I purchased. I was looking forward to using this, now I may be stuck with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Trying this model since, November 9, 2003

This review is from: Eureka 3690BV Bagless Cyclonic Canister Vacuum (Kitchen)
had a mighty mite for 15 years and its still going. Reason
for purchasing this new model is that going to give the old
mite to a family member to use in there cars. So if the 3690
is anything like the old mite it will be a good vac.

It is confusing searching the net but when went to Eureka sites
some of the models in net are not listed. This led to believe
they were discontinued so again selected the 3690. All that
was listed were 3670, 3690, 3695.

Will follow up once this model arrives
