Not just for girlies,

Very smart tool for cleaning just about anything. I cleaned my oven burners, floor tile, and have so much confidence in it that I will be cleaning my pool tile with it this weekend. Floor Tile: I used the narrow brush tool to clean the .5" grout lines that I have in my kitchen and It looks like it removed a thin layer to make the them appear brand new. I went fairly slow and agitated with the brush while applying direct steam. I noticed a thin dust layer on the edges of the tile after I performed this which may be a the top layer of grout or the packed in dust - The grout looks fantastic, but I may need to limit how often I use this technique considering I may be taking off layers or the seal - but I'm very impressed with how effective this technique can be. Cleaning the tile is a joy as well - This unit comes with two cloths that hook on to the floor tool that basically act as a catcher for dirt and dust. I would still recommend sweeping floors with heavy dust or debris first as you would if you were going to use a mop - the cloth picks up objects that stick to it - but anything too big will be pushed around. These cloths are very durable and I have washed one several times and it seems as good as new. I have not used the tool as a steamer for clothing yet, but I am pretty confident it will work to get all the wrinkles out. The times between refills seem to be a little over a half an hour. The process of re-filling the tank can be a little tedious considering you have to wait for the unit to cool down before opening the tank - I would compare the annoyance factor to waiting for a slice of pizza to cool down before chowing it - not a big deal. The 370 is fun to use, has tools to do about anything, and will kick the crud out of any stubborn stains or dirt that have been plaguing you. If this thing doesn't beat it it probably needed to be replaced and not cleaned in the first place. I give it 4 out of 5 stars - I would have given it 5 if it had come with a remote control and I could clean things from my couch.

Great steamer!! With a little common sense it's no trouble.,

I had been shopping around for a while for a steamer hot and powerful enough to do more than de-wrinkle and this thing is it!
I read several reviews where people gripe about the time and tediousness to refill. Okay, while it's true if you follow the safety guidelines it can be. Having said that, it takes almost no time if you use your brain. Turn the unit off, lean away from it, and use a heavy duty oven mitt to open the water tank. Fill it with the funnel, close it and go. Only takes me three minutes. Of course safety first but product safety guidelines are written to keep the dumbest person from hurting themselves. As to performance, I love it. Someone noted it only sprayed water on clothes. Well, if you read the directions and recall high school physics, condensation can form and so when you trigger the unit it spits out any condensed water. Takes two seconds. I've used it to clean an entire white bathroom, tile, tub, toilet, grout. Its best performance was on my sofa which has never cleaned easily unless I rented a big Rug Doctor. If you want a steamer, this is the most versatile and affordable unit out there, way better than what Black & Decker offers and not as bulky as a Wet/Dry Vac. Don't expect the sun and moon, it's just steam. And now if anyone at Amazon actually reads these, I"m sure my review will get thrown away for telling people this: I just bought this unit at CostCo for [$$$] which means The Special Gold Box Price both sucks and blows.

Works well, not great owners manual.,

This device looks well made comes with a bunch of mostly useful accessories and is very reasonably priced. To suggest that it doesn't work at all and is in essence a decorative Italian sculpture is simply incorrect. The two keys to success with this steamer are first to let it fully warmup, the amber light may glow indicating that it's ready but often it needs a few more minutes before use. Secondly you must flush the water out of the system and make sure that only pure steam comes out. This is easy to do and see, with no attachments connected, simply depress the steam button hold the nozzle over a sink until only steam comes out. I am able to get almost one half hour of use before refill enough time in my small home to mop the kitchen and bathroom floors, clean the toilet and bathroom sink. All tasks are done well with the satsifying and actually fun steaming process. Work through the so-so manual, practice all the attachment hook-ups before you turn it on and you will have a super-clean home as a result.

Absolutely Wonderful!,

This little thing is one of the best cleaning tools I've ever owned. It is easy to use (if you read the owner's manual first) and a gem--especially if you have someone in the house who is sensitive to chemicals as I do. But I can't stress enough that the Enviro-steamer cleans *better* than those chemicals ever did and leaves no odor behind, just clean floors (and bathrooms, and stovetops, and windows...). I have hardwood and tile floors throughout the place, and I've never found it so easy to clean them. It's also great for steaming the wrinkles out of just about anything. One reviewer mentioned their thumb getting tired, but there's a switch lock that can be used to lock the steamer on as well as off (so you don't need to keep presssing the button down). Just, as the other reviewers have said, let it heat up adequately (the amber light is only a thermostat from what I can tell), and let all the water out of the hose before attempting to steam anything. You'll find that when it's full of water you get less steam than when it's only half full of water (the water and the steam stay in the same reservoir), so I almost never fill mine completely--I've yet to find a cleaning job that required the full two cups of water-as-steam to complete.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Eureka 370A Enviro-Steamer Upright Multi-Steamer (Kitchen)
I purchased the Eureka 370-A a few months ago. I purchased it with a specific purpose in mind. I needed my house to be extra clean because my son would be coming home from the hospital after a big preccedure and would be susceptable to germs. The 370 came with a wide variety of attachments to make it easy to clean in all sorts of places and at different angles. To name a few it has a floor cleaner, window attachment with squeegie, a nozzle to clean at angles(I used that on my mini-blinds),upholstery cleaner, a couple of scrubbling brushes(for tile and grout) and some extention wands. It also has some cloths you can attach to the floor cleaner head and the upholstry cleaner(completly machine washable). I used these and instantly knew it was doing it's job as I can see the dirt on them when I was done. I cleaned my carpets with the floor attachment and cloths although it didnt say anywhere in the instuction book it could do that. (You might want to try a small area if you decide to do that). The only thing it did not clean was the old stains on the carpet, but i still give it five stars beacuse even with the old stains I can see that it is much cleaner and it doesnt claim to do that anyway. I also used it on the mattresses...it amazing how much dirt can gather on something thats covered with sheets all the time! Using it is a cinch as long as you read the directions. Fill with water, Wait till the indicator says its ready(this does take several minutes), assemble your attachments before it's hot(this took a little figuring out but once youve got it ..youve got it!), release the built up steam first, in a sink or outside, press and go!. It's VERY light weight, well built, rolls easily with you. Always be sure to empty any remaining water so you dont get a calcium build up inside as the directions say not to use any chemicals to clean it. And BE CAREFUL... Steam is Hot! A couple of other great features are that it comes with a roomy tote bag that fits ALL of the attachments in for storage or carrying around and it also has a very long cord! I've used it many times in the last few months and have been happy with the noticably good results and durability of this item. I also like the idea of not having to use any harsh cleaning products. I keep looking for things to use it on, I'm eyeing my dog right now He's next... just kidding! Go for it!.....Laurie P.S. My son is doing good!

Cleaning is a crappy job, so quit complaining.,

I'm an apt. manager and I saw a refurb. unit for quite a nice price so I decided to take the plunge after seeing the infomercials for the tiny ones.My main complaint when cleaning things is the chemistry required. Yes bleach is amazing, but doing it in too many small bathrooms or kitchens (particularly in the winter) gets me kinda dizzy, so I thought that this might do the trick. No it is not a complete wonder tool, but it serves my intended purpose well. Yes there is still some serious elbow grease that's required, but I figure that's why they call cleaning "work" instead of fun. I've used the unit on floor and tub grout using a scrubber tool that's either stainless or copper. I like that the wand allows me to put some weight into it. Unfortunately it's not a wide area, but those pesky 1" foor tiles are not easy to keep clean. I also used the plastic scrubber on vinyl floors. My method is to scrub about a sq. foot and then "bounty" it up. Works great! Never tried the actual floor tool with the cloth on it. Probably OK for some things, but I'm dealing with real grunge. I've also tried it on some larger tiling where I tried 409, but the sediment wouldn't budge. The steamer did. It's got a decent resevoir and frankly I like to take a break when it finally needs a refill and reheat. Never had a problem with it not being able to keep a constant steam.

GREAT PURCHASE NO MORE MOP AND BUCKET,
By DEBRA L WARRENS (WATERLOO, IA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Eureka 370A Enviro-Steamer Upright Multi-Steamer (Kitchen)
I purchased the Eureka 370A Enviro-Steamer. I love it. What a great purchase. It's very user friendly. No problems on my first tile floor cleaning. I have 2 dogs who will sometime's have an accident, no problem cleaning up what didn't come up with a paper towel. The floor not only look's clean, it smell's clean too. It also cleaned up what our shoes left on it. We have a white tile floor and it look's like it was just laid. I wished I would have purchased one along time ago. I also like the fact that I don't have to use any over powering cleaning solutions, just steam. I really don't have any complaints with this product. Sometimes, your thumb get's tired holding down the steam button, but I can live with that. Possibly an upgrade would be an on/off switch. I also wish I could use it on my linolium floors too. I understand the steam is just too hot for those types of flooring. Try it, I'm sure you will be very pleased with the ease and clean smell. It dry's very fast. It didn't leave any water puddles on my floor. I took another's consumer's advice and let it heat up a few minutes longer, and pressed the steam button a few more times, until only the steam came out, not water. Great product. Now just come up with one that will work on the other floors as well.

Water spurts out constantly,
By
This review is from: Eureka 370A Enviro-Steamer Upright Multi-Steamer (Kitchen)
I purchased this item after much research on the internet, as well as reading most of the reviews on Amazon. Although most people seemed to find this product a great purchase, I was EXTREMELY disappointed. I have already returned it to Amazon.
Most of the good things that people have to say about it are true---it is nice looking, lightweight, easy to manuever (the wheels on back are great), and the attachments are great. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be able to do the MAIN thing it is supposed to do---produce steam instead of water droplets. I consider myself to be of--at the very least--average intelligence, and am a homemaker to boot, so am used to dealing with cleaning appliances. Many people have commented that you need to FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS for the product to work properly. I assure you that I did follow exactly as stated. I opened the box, removed all the equipment, and read through the users manual. I then filled it with the recommended amount of water and turned it on. It took probably about 15 minutes the first time using it for the amber light to go off (this indicates when it has heated the water to the appropriate temperature). The user manual then suggests pushing the 'steam release' button until only steam is coming out of the apparatus. This NEVER happened for me. It just constantly spurted out water. I did attempt to clean a few things---it did okay on my kitchen floor, but did not clean stains out of my carpet (something that I noted many reviewers said it did a good job at doing). I attempted to steam some wrinkles out of some shirts---it just spit water all over them. I turned off, emptied, and refilled about 3 different times, sometimes not filling it with as much water as recommended. I got the same results every time. One other note---I did email Eureka to ask questions to see if maybe I had read something incorrectly, and their website indicates that there is NO troubleshooting help for this particular product. It took me quite a while to locate any information on their website about this product. I told them of my problems with the machine, and have not received a response back. I would not recommend this product, unless you are looking to shoot hot water all over something---it would be great for that.

Not Terribly Impressed!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Eureka 370A Enviro-Steamer Upright Multi-Steamer (Kitchen)
I bought my steamer almost two years ago, primarily to sanitize the ceramic tiles on my kitchen floor. And after all this time, I still have to say I am not terribly impressed with this product. In fact, this is my second review of it and my rating has not changed. On the positive side, it's good for softening stuck-on food or stubborn spots on the kitchen floor. It was excellent for cleaning the oven grill. I also use it with one of the small nozzles to clean my wedding rings. But the reason it was able to do these jobs very well, in my view, is that it provided a steady stream of hot water NOT steam. Another reviewer on this site seemed to think it was a lack of common sense or basic education which made other reviewers complain about the product spurting water, but I assure you it did and in significant quantities. I expected some steam condensate, but my Enviro-Steamer produces more hot water than it does steam. In fact, I get a continuous and messy flow of water, as opposed to the steam it is supposed to produce (no matter how long I wait for it to heat up). This makes it completely unsuitable for steaming clothes or using it on upholstery. I have tried it time and time again on our clothes, each time following the manual on what to do when it spurts water, but I have never been able to do anything more than drench the clothes. As a result, I would not chance using it on upholstery. It may simply be that I got a faulty unit, but I have to agree with the others who feel it spurts far too much water. I also think that it is not powerful enough; i.e. the jet of steam was not powerful enough, which might be because it didn't produce a sufficient volume of steam to begin with. In fact, I am so underwhelmed by my Enviro-Steamer that I am hoping that I just got a faulty unit and didn't actually waste my money on what seems to be an under-performing appliance. My advice would be to spend a little extra on a better steamer. I sure wish I had!

I Love it!,

Number one - READ THE DIRECTIONS!! I know that other users complained of water spurting out. The directions clearly say that condensation can accumulate in the hose but that is only a small amount of water that I squirt into a cup (as recommended in the directions) before getting started. You can minimize condensation by keeping the hose higher than the base once the machine is up to operating temperature. My only other guess as to why water would spurt out would be that the device is only meant to hold 2 measuring cups full of water (provided with the steamer). I suppose that water might spurt out if you just filled the steamer up all the way to the top. The point is that, aside from a little bit of water at the beginning, I've NEVER had water spurt out of my steamer. The other complaint that I noticed was that the user's finger got tired. If you press the steam button down and then slid the little switch next to it, the steam stays on until you switch it off. No painful button finger. Also, I've never run out of water before I was done with a job. The light will cycle back and forth between heating and ready but that doesn't mean that you can't keep using the machine. I've never noticed any break or change in my steam flow while I'm using the machine. Now for my experiences with the Steamer - I had found a stain of some kind, ground into the carpet, from someone who lived in our house before us. Who knows what it was or how many years it had been there. It looked like bubble gum or silly putty... something that we thought we were just going to have to live with until we got new carpet. The steamer had that junk completely OUT of the carpet with absolutely no trace of it left in just a few seconds. That was my very first experiment with the steamer and I was overwhelmed - I never thought that it would live up to the real infomercial-style tests. I love the fact that it not only removes stains but kills germs too! I have allergies to molds and dust. I've cleaned my mattress, couches, and throw pillows with the steamer. I know that those places are breeding grounds for dust mites and molds. It really does seem to have helped to reduce my seasonal allergies. Not to mention the fact that my furniture looks great!! |
