This vacuum works so well I rarely take out my Big vacuum.It will pick up dry cat food easily, as well as short Christmas tree needles, hair, wood shavings, litter. I must note that you have to keep it clean. I bought several extra filters on-line and after I use it for a while I change filters. I rinse off the old one and let it dry thouroughly, and put a clean one in. I also check the small door on the bottom to make sure the path is clear to the dust chamber. If this is clogged it will seem like it's not working properly. Definitely worth the money.

I live in a one bedroom condo and thought this would be a nice little vacuum...well, it works good picking up stuff you could barely see, like light dirt and pet hair. But, try vacuuming something like a small piece of dry catfood and it wont get picked up. It will just roll around the brush at the bottom of the vacuum and once you turn it off it will all fall back out. If all you need is to vacuum dust and very light dirt, then this vacuum would be good. If you need to vacuum other stuff, go for a regular vacuum. However, this vacuum is also good for stairs.

I got mine from QVC and it only lasted six months before it just decided to stop working. So, I'm out the money but it is a great vacuum when it does work. It picked up everything but the cord is extremely short. I like the disappearing handle - that's very helpful. But, IT IS VERY, VERY LOUD! My little boy just couldn't stand it whenever I used this thing and quite frankly, neither could I. Other vacuums don't bother us that much but definitely don't buy this if you are bothered by sound. I guess I really don't miss that part at all, but it did a great job picking up stuff off the kitchen floor. It would be nice to have it longer than six months - next time I'm buying a shark!

My wife and I have five dogs that we love dearly. They are our house companions and are burglar alarms that never fail to work. But the problem is that a couple of them are constant shedders. I bought the Eureka 402A vacuum at a Kroger store in Aiken, S.C., and it has solved our allergy problems. It is so lightweight a child can use it and it really pulls up the dirt, dog hair and other debris. We use it each day (we're both retired) and it has kept us breathing freely without hacking, wheezing and coughing. I wish we had found it months ago. I went back and bought a backup machine and may buy two or three more, one for each room.

I do not think the vacuum is meant to replace a larger vacuum. I use it just to clean up quick messes and on the kitchen floor. It does well on the ceramic tile in the kitchen and on the carpet in the family room. It is extremely light which makes it so much easier to manuver than a larger vacuum. What I do not like, however, is the cord length. It is just too short. I have to frequently unplug it in order to finish up our family room, which is quite large. It is a bit loud too. It scares my two dogs and my cat to death. When they see me bringing it out, they run upstairs for safety. I bought it cheaply, so if it does break down like some of the reviewers has said their's has, I don't mind. Its done its job well, so what if I am out 30 dollars.

If you have pets and are constantly dragging out your heavy vacuum cleaner, then you will love this one. I bought this vacuum as a supplement to my large (and heavy) canister vacuum and have been pleasantly surprised by its ability to pick up pet hair. Because of the small bagless chamber, you have to empty it frequently, so I wouldn't count on this vacuum as my only vacuum cleaner. I wanted a lightweight vacuum to use on my hardwood floors and area rugs, specifically to pick up pet hair, and this vacuum exceeded my expectations. I tried the Shark, a similar model made by Fantom, and another cordless vacuum and not one of them worked anywhere near as well as this one does (stay away from the Fantom cordless - by far the worst!!). I don't think any cordless vacuum will have enough power to pick up pet hair like this one did. Overall, this vacuum is a great little vacuum for quick clean-ups or to maintain pet-hair free area rugs.

One suggestion - use the carpet setting even on bare floors. The brushes are high enough so they won't scratch bare floors, but the cleaning capability is much less without the rolling brush. I found that it just rolled over the dog hair without picking it up unless I used the carpet setting.

The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of the small holding chamber which requires frequent emptying.

Just bought this little guy @ Costco. At first apprehensive, because manufacturer did not specify the regular "Amp" rating. To our surprise, the vacuum worked out great, despite it's small size. Picked up an unbelievable amount of dog-hair, dirt etc. All this from a very light appliance, that is easy on the arms, pocket, noise and electricity !! Dogs still barking ;-)

This is the perfect vacuum for anyone living in a condo. Unlike the others writing reviews, I have been using mine for about 4 years now and I could not be more satisfied. It stores really easy. Yes it is a bit on the noisy side. I wash the filter once a month, and clean out the dirt (mostly hairs) that get stuck in the brush underneath. If you maintain your vacuum, it can last you forever. Adn I only paid 40$ for it.I'm now looking for a new filter since I wore the other one out washing.

I got this vacuum Not even a year ago. I thought it was going to be a great little vacuum because of the 16amp the big ones are only 12amp and I liked it because it was small-n-light, and I didn't have a lot of cash to spend. It picked up great a first but started to clog up really fast I have a one year old that makes a big mess with crumbs and I HAVE to vacuum at least once a day. Also you cannot open the bottom to clean the brush roll. The brush roll wouldn't spin anymore and would cost more to have it fixed than what the vacuum was worth!
It is also pretty load for a little vacuum. I believe this vacuum would be good for people that have hard floors only. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS VAC.

This is my first bagless vacuum cleaner. For the price i paid, this vacuum cleaner works without any troubles. It cleans carpets and floors equally well. The only disadvantage is that it does not have an extension tube to reach inside futons and corners. For general floor cleaning, this vacuum is a very good choice in both price and performance.
