Allergy sufferers and pet owners will appreciate the HEPA filtration system, sealed to keep dust and allergens in the bag. The powerful 12 amp motor and 15-inch cleaning swath are accompanied by Eureka's revolutionary Dirt Alert sensor. Here's how it works: An infrared beam located in the vacuum hose sends a light beam across the internal width of the hose. If dirt or debris breaks the light beam, the red light on the front of the vacuum illuminates, indicating that debris is still being picked up and that additional cleaning is needed. We found the Dirt Alert almost addictive in its effect and accuracy.
Although it is not self-propelled, operation of the vacuum is easy thanks to a foot-controlled on/off switch and a markedly bright headlamp. The onboard cleaning tools include an extension wand, crevice tool, combination tool, dusting brush, and upholstery nozzle. Switching between standard upright usage and using the hose and tools is simple, and although the vacuum is hardly light (just under 20 pounds), we managed to drag it up and down a flight of stairs without breaking a sweat. The vacuum is nice, easy to assemble and includes a bevy ofattachments. However, the vacuum is *NOT BAGLESS*. That is to say, it needs to have a dust collection bag in addition to the HEPA filter. Otherwise, great product.

Easy to assemble. Not that hard to push or pull. One attachment has no storage area on the vacuum. Doesn't clean edges very well, either using the front or the sides (leaves an area about 0.25in uncleaned). Cord does not store very well due to the long lenth (which is appreciated). Carrying handle is a nice feature when bringing the vacuum up and down the stairs. All in all, a good value for the price.

At the recommendation of a friend, I bought the Eureka Victory vacuum cleaner. Big Mistake! It doesn't pick up dirt well at all and anything larger than the most microscopic dust particle will remain on the floor for all eternity unless YOU pick it up. This vacuum cleaner is not the absolute worst I've ever seen, but it's darn close. And that's not a good thing. And it clogs up when the bag is LESS than half full! Don't waste your time, energy, anger or money on this one. It really [is bad].
