4.0 out of 5 stars belt good as long as it lasts
This is an essential buy for Eureka maxima bagless vacuum because it breaks often [one in every 3months on average). This is not a shortcoming of the belt itself but a drawback of the vacuum's roller system which gets stuck if not cleaned frequently, snapping the belt as a result.

1.0 out of 5 stars Broke the first day
Both of these belts broke on the first day. The previous belt had lasted over a year. I thought these would be better, since their labeled as Extended wear. I picked up some cheap ones (not Eureka brand)at walmart, and they are fine. I guess EXT means extra thick, which also means less pliable. Maybe it was just a bad batch, but I'll stick to off brand from now on.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really makes the brush roll move, October 31, 2005

I broke the belt of the vacuum when I first tried it. Replacing was easily done and now it works prefect, but that's not what baffled me. It arrived the day after I ordered it. I didn't have to go one day without a working vacuum.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good product, but you have to make sure it's installed correctly, November 15, 2010

I read the reviews previous to mine about the belts breaking after one or two uses so I was a little skeptical. The first one I used did break after only one use but after I put the second one on I made sure that it was installed correctly in the grooves and it has lasted every since so I don't think that the first one breaking has to do with the quality of the product. Will buy again when necessary!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not So Great - Wish I could give 0 stars, July 27, 2010

The belt that was on my vacuum when I bought it lasted quite a long time - 2 years or so at least. I got these as replacements, and the first one lasted a few months, the second one broke the second time I used it.
These belts are not great - the only only good thing about them is that they are cheap. I'd like to know what kind of belt people are finding at walmart that will fit the same as these do - even though it's probably cheaper to have them shipped from Amazon than what I would pay in gas to drive to walmart, the idea of having a belt last a bit longer and not be caught in a bind because I can't vacuum would be worth it.

EDIT:
The second time I bought these belts, I got even worse results. The first belt lasted 2 vacuumings, and the second one broke almost instantly after I installed it. Instead of a vacuumed floor what I end up with is a house filled with the smell of burned rubber. It's disgusting.
I'd mentioned before that I was at least happy these were cheap, but I retract that now. I had picked up another belt at a place that starts with K and ends with mart and it lasted much longer than these.
My very loving spouse has thankfully finally said that I might be able to purchase a new vacuum in the near future ... I'm crossing my fingers as this intimate relationship I've been having with my Eureka just isn't really doing it for me.

Turned out to be a dud, both of the belts lasted for couple of weeks. Didn't bother following up with the seller and got a generic belt from walmart. Its been over a month and its holding up well so far. I hope the seller goes through the review.

2.0 out of 5 stars Update, January 30, 2010

I noticed my Eureka vacuum stopped picking up small pieces of thread or lint from the carpet, even tho it seemed to be vacuuming fine otherwise. The belt looked allright, but once I replaced it there was a big improvement. Belts are inexpensive so I plan to replace it yearly. If you do a lot of vacuuming, you may need to replace it every six months.

UPDATE: These belts break far too often, therefore I changed my rating from 5 stars down to 2. I don't have much carpeting to vacuum, no pets in the house, and no children living at home..still the first belt broke after only 6 weeks and the second one after 2 months.

4.0 out of 5 stars does the job, January 25, 2012

smells a little but that i figure comes from the fact that the rubber is rubbing against bare metal.
Does what it has to do and i am fine with that.

Received belt in a very timely manner. works great with my vacuum. I have used it several times and belt has not broken.. I would have given this company ten stars for the great quality and speedy delivery, but we are only allowed to give five. GREAT JOB

I have a Eureka Pet Pal vacuum that eats up belts like crazy. When a belt broke unexpectedly, this was a must. The seller got the item to me quickly with free shipping. The packaging was great and the belts seem to last longer than others.

They're a bit thick, but if you loop the belt in position and use a bit of leverage with the roller to get it in place, it's easy. I will buy this product over and over until I can afford a nice, new vacuum.
