Great little vacuum!,

I loved this machine, bought it esp. because it was recommended for multiple pet households and we have 4 cats (long and short hair) and a dog. It works fantastic on bare floors and carpets, not so well on rugs, since the beater bar is driven by suction only. "Pet paw" was a little small, but overall it really cleaned the place, because the suction is GREAT! Because it is really small it was also real easy to carry it up and down our steps, also loved that the attachments are not fixed in position down by the floor so you can not bump them and they fall off as other vacuums have it. I did not buy the product here, but I ended up returning it to the company because the canister is a little small for our house. I needed to clean too often and it is a pretty messy business to clean the HEPA filter (which I now understand is typical for canister vacuums), hence I decided to rather replace bags with a lot less mess. Whoever does not mind that...it works fantastic for what I expected!

The on/off button does not work. This happened the SECOND time we fired it up. Now I have to take it to a authorized dealer to be fixed...... I would NOT go with this vacuum.

I've been using this eureka pet lover bagless canister vacuum for over 2 years now and not satisfied with it. The only positive thing I have to say about it is that it seems to be built sturdy and transitions between carpeting and hard floors well HOWEVER this isn't a good vacuum for carpets. It's just too weak. For hard flooring it's fine.
Here are the cons: -bit heavy -hate the rubber wheels on the canister, makes it hard to move the machine around. If it was just smooth plastic wheels then this machine would glide easily whenever I made turns here and there. But it always gets stuck and I have to pick up the machine and set it in the direction I'm moving. -Loses suction over time as the filter gets dirty. And it's difficult to clean/wash the filter because of it's shape. -it's suction power overall is weak even though I tried my best to keep the canister and filter clean all the time. Therefore I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone nor ever buy it again.

The first time I used the vaccum it worked great. Ever since then this vacuum puts me through hell. I don't even have pets! I thought since I don't have a dog then this vacuum should work even better.Let's start with the good: It's great on hard floors. You can put a dryer sheet in the carbon filter to make the room smell good. Bad: Suction sucks. I taped up every leak; the suction meter and suction control trigger thing (both features sacrifice suction). There's still no suction. The roller barely moves. The "Combination Floor Turbo Nozzle" needs to be taken apart every week to remove the hair from the roller brushes. Yes I have to take a screwdriver to the turbo brush every time I want to vacuum. If there's any hair on the roller brush it wont turn. I couldn't imagine what life would be like with this vacuum if I had a dog. The 'turbo' nozzle is the most poorly designed piece of crap in the history of man kind. Seriously. I open the turbo brush every week, even the gears have hairs wound up in them. The filter. A sock would be a better filter. I'm convinced the filter is the same filter used in my old inflatable pool. A pool filter in a eureka vacuum? Now everything makes sense! I clean the filter out every couple weeks. Barely does anything to gain any suction. Even with the filter removed the suction still sucks. Roller brush still stops when placed on the carpet. I don't have a high pile carpet. The canister's bin also does nothing to trap the dust and hair, it goes straight to the filter. I found out if you pour some water into the collection bin the dust tends to get trapped in the water instead of the filter. The carbon filter? Why is it there? It traps heat and doesn't make the room smell any better. Midas well use it in a fish tank. Also the extra wand tools don't stay attached to the wand. The mini turbo paw brush actually works, and I noticed it's used with other vacuums. Why couldn't the regular turbo brush be modeled after the mini one. I don't use the mini brush though, as I don't have pets or stairs. Dear Eureka! Unless you send me a vacuum that actually works, I will never buy a Eureka branded product ever again. Your parent company Electrolux made the Luxomatic back in the 1960s. My mom still uses that vacuum to this day. How Electrolux can approve the quality of this Eureka branded vacuum is beyond me.

It was used maybe not as clean as I thought it would be and the hose was not connected to the handle. After a little work I repaired it. Just received it and I think it's going to be good.

I would not give the Eureka 940A Pet Lover Vacuum a one star rating. This is the most worthless vacuum I have ever bought and I have bought afew in my life time. Do not waste your money on this vacuum.
