After trying lots of different plastic & rubber consumer vacuums that couldn't seem to last more than 12 months, I broke down and bought this 'commercial' vacuum. And I'm happy about it - it does what I bought it for, namely, cleans the carpet reliably and without worrying about whether it will last - it will. All-in-all, very happy with this vacuum. If you want or need a vacuum for stairs or non-carpeted floors, this is NOT for you. But if you want a good, solidly built, reliable vacuum that will get that job done, this is a great choice.

A very good vacuum cleaner. Great for the office. Solid design ans simple operation. I will buy another.

We have been using it since our dirt devil quit. It has no problems with dog hairs (we have short hairs to deal with) and the bags are very very easy to find. Heavy duty and includes a spare belt.

It is no frills and has no attachments but a great performer on carpets..

This vacuum is great. Easy to clean the cannister. Good suction

than any other vacuum I had (usually looses suction after only 3 months)

The vacuum's switch does not work. The only way to turn off the machine is by pulling the plug. This is not what I thought I was purchasing when I bought a brand name vacuum.

Finally, I have a good working carpet cleaner. After a negative experience with a Hoover upright which ate my rugs, I returned to Eureka and took a chance on it. I am happy I did because the rug cleaning is 5 star!
I have a variety of heights of rugs and carpet in my mountain house and this is the upright for all of them. I bought commercial grade, and even so, it is quite light to push around after my years with a heavier (more metal) Eureka upright. Ever since I bought a commerical grade cannister, I want build quality the best I can now find.

This would be easier to put together if there are two people. However, I put it together by myself with scrutiny and effort. It is hard to see black on black to line up the original screws while keeping the bag centered.
The instructions are skimpy, and the illustations do not show how it should eventually look when complete. That image would be very helpful. It is hard to find where the original cord screw should go. I kept going back to the instructions, and when I put it on, it seemed to interfere with the dust cover removal system. Be sure to line up the other two cord holders, and then they snap right on. Again, an illustration would help.

In spite of the hours it took me to do this, I am very happy to have a working, hopefully excellent vacuum cleaner again. One star subtracted because of poor instructions.

quieter than most vaccuums and has great suction power. can't go wrong for the price and there's no bags to buy.

Good vac but capacity seems small for a commercial unit. Plastic clips that hold cannister in place seem likely to break. Would not have purchased this model if I saw it in person. Relied on other Amazon reviews for information.

I have this as a second sweeper for upstairs and it is great for a lightweight sweeper.
