The order arrived on time and at almost the lowest price I found. My review will copy most others I've read. The tent is spacious. Although only 1/2 the tent is floored, a simple tarp and $30 worth of indoor/outdoor carpet and there is room for more sleepers. My girlfriend and I bought this tent specifically for music festivals we attend. It's obviously more room than needed for two people, but when at a campsite for 6 days and 5 nights, the comfort of having a screen room for sitting in comfort from light to medium rain, bugs, or even other campers is quite nice. As a base tent, we can leave for the afternoon knowing that ALL gear can be stored in screen room, which by the way YOU CAN CLOSE OFF ALL SCREENS , is an added convenience. I bring this up because it's usually not stated or reflected in PICTURES. EVERY SCREEN HAS THE ABILITY TO BE BLOCKED FOR PRIVACY AND DRYNESS! If you want a great product and the willingness to invest in your camping equipment, I definitely recommend this tent. It's big and I don't recommend a novice camper to set it up alone, but well worth the money. Respect the tent, follow instructions, and for goodness sakes, seal the seams of any tent you buy.

Great tent, easy set-up,

This tent is a great product with well-written & easy to follow instructions for set-up. We set it up in or driveway a few days before our trip in about 10 minutes just so we'd know there wouldn't be any trouble once we got to our destination. The sleeping quarters are spacious - we had one queen size and one twin size air mattress with room to walk in between and room for our suitcases. Large window openings let in the breezes. Nice to have the option to use the door out of the sleeping quarters as well as thru the screen room. The screen room is great, too. No floor, obviously, but our next trip we will invest in a piece of outdoor carpet to place on the ground in it. This tent is large, but we are tall people and so it was nice to be able to stand straight up and walk around and not have to hunch over as with our previous dome tents. We spent a week at the beach in this tent and had no problems. There was even a severe thunderstorm that lasted about an hour one day - HEAVY rain and wind - but it held up just fine. The floor of the tent was dry as a bone, and no leaks at all. The only thing was that the fly over both ends of the tent collected rain and my husband had to run out and dump it out a couple of times. Otherwise, I say this is a great product and well worth the cost. This will be the tent we use on every trip now.

I've use this tent two times. Both times in State Parks with clear sky. My wife and I are both in our seventies and have no problem setting up this tent.
We perfer not using the fly if possible because of the great view of the stars at night. The tent divides into two 8x10 sections with a total of 7 windows and 2 exterior doors. The front room has no flooring and can serve as a sheltered sand pit or some other reason that escapes my mind right now. I orginally bought 2 8x10 tarps and connected them with 2" wide velcro to use as a footprint to protect the bottom of the tent for my first outing. Although the front room has a 6" to 8" flap running around the interior edges, uneven ground makes it possible for something to small to crawl into the front floor area unless someing is placed to keep the flaps down. (See my solution below.) The second trip was to a different State Park. This time it was me and our three grandchidren ages 5, 8, and 10. We met up with friends who helped with setup. The sit up process is very easy but works best with two people because the height of the tent. This time I bought a 12x16 tarp from amazon for my tent footprint (folded the extra 2 feet to make a 10x16 footprint for the size of the tent.) I then use one of my 8x10 tarps inside the front room. This sandwiched the above mentioned flaps between the ground footprint and the floor tarp - happy camper! There is a dividing panel which serves as either a door or winow to seperate the rooms. This door can be left open or closed. Be sure to remember that there is a 6" step over when going from the front and back rooms. The back 8x10 room has an exterior door or window depending on how you want to use it. The flooring is a continuation of the sides - thus no gap problem to worry about -(there is a sweep flap that can be utilized.) Two twin beds per room are the best allowing a walk space between the beds. On this trip we ended up with 3 air mattress and no walk room in the back room and 2 air mattress in the front room. In summary, this is a spacious tent for up to 4 people and very roomy for 2. It's easy to setup and receives many complements from other campers. Bob & Sally

I purchased this tent for the simple fact that it does not have a floor in the screen room. I have kids and they don't get that they can't get food on the tent or bugs may eat through the bottom of the tent. Not having a floor in the screen room means my kids can have a light snack in there before bed or a meal if it rains. The screen area fits my table, 4 camp chairs, the dog crate, and all our gear. The sleeping area is very roomy for my family of 4. There is a hook at the top of the tent in the sleeping area to hang a light or fan from. We have not had to deal with rain or high winds yet. My 9 yr old was able to follow the directions and tell me how to set up the tent. Everything is color coded and not a lot of pieces parts so it went quick.

Tent is well made,
This review is from: Eureka! Copper Canyon 1610 - Tent (sleeps 6) (Sports)
I received the tent the tent in less than a week even though Amazon showed it out of stock and on back order. The tent is big, fairly heavy ( about 40 pound I guess) but easy to set up. Read the simple instruction before starting to set up the tent. My wife and I set ours up in windy weather in about 30 minutes the first time. I like the zippers they are big and heavy duty. There is a weather covering over the zippers. We are planning a trip From Florida to Washington State in June and July. We will be spending a lot of time in this tent. I think it will be comfortable. The screen room is very nice. I'm 6 foot and can walk around inside without hitting my head. I am very Pleased with this tent.

This is an awesome tent. We got it to replace our pop-up camper. I can honestly say I don't miss my camper. The tent is well designed - in fact it is perfectly designed. They thought of every detail. For example, the top of the tent is a screen, the rain fly covers it, but the ventilation is perfect and there are plastic windows in the top of the fly to let in the light. Don't want the light shining in in the morning? No problem, there are little covers that zip over the plastic window in the sleeping room. There are all kind of little features that surprised me - like a tab to step on to hold the zipper down when opening the doors. It is very rooming and easy to walk around in - no stooping. We haven't had it out in a hard rain yet, but we purchased a Eureka because of past experience with a smaller tent. This smaller tent went through several significant storms. Everyone we were camping with was soaked inside and outside their tents, howerver, our little Eureka was quite dry. This tent has been through a modest rain and was completely dry inside. The directions for assembly are equally impressive. They give you every detail you need, including tips for easiest assembly, in very understandable language. We are a bit older yet had no problem putting the tent up. I'd say the only down side is its size. It needs a fairly large flat spot. (But its size is why we bought it - we like the space). Happy camping!!

Pros:
- We were stuck in a torrential downpour and 3 large dudes stayed dry under the screened area. We all had chairs and the cooler acted like a coffee table. Very comfortable. - Having no floor under the porch is key. Great place to put shoes so dirt does not get into the sleeping area...and if you smoke, great place for ashes... Also, food crumbs are not an issue. Who wants to have to take their shoes of just to enter the porch area. BEST part about the tent - Great looking tent... Very Egyptian looking when the front doors are rolled up. I admired it and annoyed my friends for 3 days... - Tons of places to hang things and good pockets.. Very easy to get comfortable - No annoying zipper rain flaps that get snagged (expect the side door, so we never used that one. Screened area eliminated the need for those awful flaps. - If you do use the side door, great option for the person who gets up 3x in the middle of the night, so they don't step all over their friends/family.. just watch that rain flap on the zipper. - tons of windows and vents. Cons: - It took us 1 hour to set up the 1st time and we broke a corner 90 doing so.. Eureka sent us a new one for free though.. - water pools on top of the fly and stretched it out a touch.. Look at the pictures on the web site.. It is very flat on top. We will modify the slope with the guy strings (we did use the 1st time) next time

Love this tent there are 4 of us and we fit perfectly. we have a queen blow up mattress and a twin and a small pack and play for my then 1 year old and still had room to change and put out bags. The front screen room does not have a floor. We got a large tarp and made a floor but one night an animal did get in even though we had staked it down. Luckily our dog scared the animal away. the front room fits a small table and 2 large coolers. Other than that my 6'4" Husband can stand up in it great. we have used it for 2 summers now and love it. looks very sharp on the camp site as well. Assembly with 2 people takes 20 mins. I have set it up by myself to air it out before the summer and it takes about 40mins. the hardest part is putting the fly on. Overall very happy with this Tent can't wait for summer this year!

We are happy with the tent. The first time we set it up in the yard we had an overnight thunderstorm with wind gusts over 50MPH. With nothing inside the tent it did blow over during the night and fracture a couple of poles. The next day we grabbed the corners and set it back up. I did tape up the poles and bought a few larger tent stakes to give me a little more confidence in securing it in place during high winds. We have since used the tent and are very satisfied with it. It is simple and easy to set up and fulfills our needs.

Experienced campers will bring completely different insights. I can tell you that as a first time tent owner and second time car camper, this seemed like a lot of $$$ for a tent. It's worth it! Having the screen room added a lot of convenience. No shoes on and off and loads of room for storage. The tent seemed plenty sturdy (note I don't have a lot to compare it to...). LOTS of windows, multiple doors, easy access, good ventilation, SKYLIGHTS, "curtains" for the windows, option for closing off the tent from the screen room, every feature was well designed.
Good news: I was able to set this tent up with only the assistance of a slightly disinterested teenager. It took about 45 minutes due to general inexperience 4 stars because this is the second tent I ordered (first one was returned) with a defective side wall pole fitting. There was a light ocean breeze and the tent held up fine even with that issue. I'll update the review with eureka's response if anyone's interested. Spring for it. It's got a great design and is easy to set up. Happy camping to you. |
