Getting the Best Results

• Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce airflow. This vacuum cleaner creates suction. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.

• Do not place vacuum cleaner on furniture or stairs as the brush roll may cause damage. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs. Place vacuum cleaner on floor with the handle in storage position while using attachments.

• Do not use without the HEPA filter in place. Clean filter after each use and replace the filter occasionally.

Customer Reviews

I highly recommend this vacuum cleaner!

The very first issue I had with the damned thing was that it wasn't really picking up small debris that my old Hoover had no problem sucking up.

Running it on low carpet was also likely to make it smoke and possibly catch fire. they warned me.

Ive owned this vacuum for 6 months. I dont know what people are talking about with suction, even after this long I've never had a suction problem and I think it cleans just as good as the day I got it. I clean the filters probably once every 45 days, and empty the canister whenever it starts to gets full, and it has NEVER been anything but great with suction. I love the attachments as I have cats. Honestly I prefer this vacuum over my mothers Oreck and Kirby. Definitely recommend this vacuum.

I wish I could give this 0 stars!
My old vacuum cleaner was a Hoover bagged upright and that thing had power and excellent pick up. When it finally broke down on me after a good 8 years, I decided to get a bagless. I bought this one from a department store.
The very first issue I had with the damned thing was that it wasn't really picking up small debris that my old Hoover had no problem sucking up. Most would just fly out the back onto my feet or elsewhere away from the unit itself. WTF? I had adjusted the height a myriad of times and still got the same damned result!
Sure it got my German Shepard's loose fur from around the house, but other things like a dry grain of rice would just shoot off hitting something. So exasperated!
Another issue is that the hose attachment regularly detaches from the upright when you are just vacuuming. The hose is short and has tension that pulls itself out from the vac. Arrrrrgh! When I use it I have to keep an eye on the hose and push it back it when it pops out. I shouldn't have to be dealing with this!
The filter can be washed and should be washed like once a week. But It freakin' takes nearly a week for it to dry thoroughly.
The small beater bar hand attachment is a joke! It constantly stops when vacuuming the couch, an issue I never had with the Hoover.

People! Save yourselves the frustration and just don't get this thing. There are better vacuums out there for the money.
I initially wanted to say that this vacuum sucks. But it just doesn't "suck" right.

Instead of reviewing this vacuum for its cleaning capabilities, I will instead review it for its dust and dirt spreading power, because it is absolutely fabulous at the latter.

I have never seen a machine that distributes filth in such an effective way. If you are looking for a heavy device that will pick up pet hair, dirt, dust, and other debris and then shoot it back out onto your floors, then this is the vacuum you are searching for.

I found myself changing into long pants and boots before using it (even in summer), because the Eureka Pet Expert Bagless Upright Vacuum would launch projectiles (e.g. paperclips, tiny pebbles, and other small things) out the back with such force that they would sting my feet and legs. I was so pleased by this bonus feature -- and it wasn't even advertised!

The last benefit that I'll mention is the way the suction reduces over time. I have owned this vacuum for about two years now, and after taking apart, cleaning, and maintaining all pieces of it, the hose and brush suction is almost zero. I love this bonus feature -- it keeps the dirt on the floor where it belongs, and means that I don't even have to worry about emptying the dirt reservoir.

In a nutshell, if you are looking for a vacuum that spreads filth like a pro, has little-to-no suction, and requires you to wear protective clothing while using it, then this is the device for you!

I bought this vacuum on amazon about 1 year ago. I have a big german shepherd mix and 2 fluffy cats. The vacuum is very good getting rid of their fur. Sometimes is hard to believe that we had so much in the carpet! The side brush works really well for clothes and fabric couches too. It's not excessively heavy and easy to push around when the vacuum is on because the suction is strong and help move the vacuum. I also use on tile/wood floor occasionally and it works fine. Easy to clean and put it back together. Now, cleaning the stairs is difficult because the attachments are not very long and do not stretch easily. Overall, great deal for the money.

I have had the Eureka Pet Expert for over one year and can rave about it. We have several new wool rugs that produce and incredible amount of "fluff", two active kids and a short-haired dog that sheds like a long-haired one. This vacuum sucks it right up. I have to empty the canister several times on the family room rug alone, which gets vacuumed three times a week. The pet brush attachment is fantastic considering we have a white dog and chocolate brown sofas in the living room, brown ones in the family room and tan ones in the media room. I have two filters and switch them once a month and wash the one that I am not using since it takes several days for the filter to dry. I agree with other reviewers about the length of the hose being to short. We have two stair cases and I have to drag it right next to me just so I don't have to worry about it falling down the stairs.

I am considering purchasing another so I can keep one upstairs and one downstairs.

I purchased this vacuum a few months ago. And I must say I totally loved it. We have a golden retriever that sheds a lot of hair. Initially I came to amazon to see if other people were now having the problem I was having. The vacuum no longer picks up the dog hair or anything else like another reviewer I was getting the dirt falling out on the floor. I resorted to using the link brush to pick up hair from the carpet... Well I was heading out to buy another vacuum.

Instead, I decided to call Eureka. It turns out if you are having a problem with the vacuum picking up, there are 2 screws at the side of the vacuum (in the purple part of the vacuum) when it is upright. Remove those screws and check if the hose is blocked with hair etc. You may need to use a wire hanger to clean out the hose. The canister that holds the lint brush also comes off. be careful removing it. You need to push in both ends and then remove the gray thingy that holds it in (mine broke). now clean out the portion of the hose that goes down to near the floor.

Once completely clean reattach all the pieces. This is very easy it took me about 15 minutes to do this. Now my vacuum works like new again. I gave the vacuum 4 stars because the design is flawed.
