I've only had it for about 4 months, and I've already had to replace the belt two times. The canister is a PITA to empty and clean. The suction, well, sucks on bare floors. After I go over a bare floor, it's still gritty and sandy. Why don't they include a bare floor tool anymore? Good luck trying to vacuum up leaves that fall from your plants. Doesn't even vacuum up balls of cotton very well, it leaves tufts. I'm sticking to good old fashioned use and toss bags.

This vacuum cleaner is a worthless piece of junk. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! I knew it within one month of owning it. I was worried about my husband using the vacuum and breaking the handle. As it turned out I did it, even after being so careful. It doesn't matter how much suction it has; how long a cord or hose is or what great cleaning tools it has. It doesn't matter how well it cleans edges. If the hardware-- handles, snaps, plastic hinges, etc...break off... it renders the vacuum suction worthless. Consumer Reports doesn't test for those things in a vacuum.

Eureaka hardware will not stand up to normal wear. The plastic is so thin and weak that with the tiny bit of force they break off. You will no longer be able to close the canister and then where is all that great suction everyone is talking about? It's like having a car with a great performing engine but all the car doors falls apart; the steering wheel breaks in your hands; the hood keeps popping open while driving; the trunk flys open and the hinges disintegrate. What good is all that performance? All Eureaka vacuum cleaners are cheaply made of the same flimsy yet critical plastic pieces, which ultimately fall apart.
