Product Description

Leave the rain fly off the Eureka Pinnacle Pass 2XTA Tent at the height of summer so you can enjoy the cool breeze through the two large no-see-um mesh doors. In fall and spring (or anytime the clouds look heavy) attach the fly to block the wind and keep you dry. The vestibules let you store your muddy boots and extra gear outside the tent so you won't wake up cuddled next to your muddy gear. The three-season Pinnacle Pass 2XTA packs down small for transport in your backpack, kayak, or bike panniers.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great little tent, January 3, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Bought this tent specifically for a trip to Torres Del Paine based on its size, weight, color, and brand reputation. The tent sets up easily, and packs up well although the nylon sleeve it comes with splits easily and had to be reinforced with duct tape after the frst time out. You will need to buy a footprint, bigger stakes, and guy lines if you are anticipating wind. An add-on attic is handy too. I used it for 6 nights and it held up well in 50+ winds with lots of guy lines and after a full day of rain it was leaking only slightly through the fly zipper seams (need to use sealer on those). Size is fine if a little tight for 2, the vestibules are nice and handy to store your pack and cook in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great tent, March 25, 2007

This is a great tent for any camping, but especially for backpacking. It is very lightweight and simple to set up, with only 2 poles. The design of the pole fasteners make it easy for one person. Once set up, it is much more spacious than most 2-person tents. The dual doors and vestibules make for easy entry and exit. Also, the ventilation of this tent is very well designed. Most of the tent is mesh, and there is a spacious gap between the rainfly and the tent itself. This and the air vent on the side are designed to ventilate the tent well but still effectively keep water out. It is also a good idea to buy a footprint, it will prevent damage and keep water out. Great little tent, highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great tent for the money., January 3, 2007
I purchased 14 of these for our BSA Troop. We have used them 3 or 4 times. It is a great tent. When put up correctly w/ a ground cloth, I stayed dry in two nights of heavy rain. Those without a ground cloth were a little damp, but not soaked. Those who didn't pull the rainfly down tight and stake it got soaking wet. They learned. The tent feels a little heavier than they rate it. We weighed one with a ground cloth and it was 6.5#. It is hard to get into the stuff sack with a ground cloth. Overall, we are very pleased with this tent and would recommend it to others.
