When I purchased this item, I thought it would be a Eureka brand filter, since it says "by Eureka". I guess the word "replacement" is supposed to indicate that it's a generic but I think it's pretty misleading. I haven't had a chance to try it in my vacuum to make sure it fits, but I'm pretty annoyed that they would say something is made by Eureka when it's not.

I wish this item had been labeled as an non-OEM (i.e. *NOT* the *ORIGINAL* Equipment Manufacturer) replacement. I've had problems with non-OEM belts in the past (burn up after 1 weeks use), so I was leery of yet another non-OEM part in my vac.

Fortunately, this non-OEM seems to fit, and seems to be of *near* Eureka quality, so I tried it and it works. But it still feels like I've been bait-and-switched. Buyer beware.

From the product descriptions and all the favorable customer comments, I thought I'd try one of these and would get a great deal over an original Eureka replacement filter. This package arrived Saturday, opened and gave it a quick "look over" and noticed, same size and color but no printing on the side edges; removed the old "original" and popped this replacement in, fits in the space but then, the cover won't close or lock into place, no matter how I shift the filter around or press down. Sad to say I'll be returning this tomorrow and will shop for an original Eureka replacement and try this all over again; have to commend Amazon customer service for processing my return and providing instructions and mailing label, thanks for that!

While this is, indeed, a HEPA filter and fits my vacuum, it is NOT Eureka's HF2 filter. The HF2 has seven rows of louvres, but the one they sent has only four. The rear of the HF2 is covered by a finer, single-layer filter missing from what they sent. The plain HEPA will work but does not prevent the finest dust in the air. Amazon needs to stop calling this filter HF2.

I hadn't change my filter, EVER in the last couple years I've had my vacuum, so I saw this while ordering the bags...by the way get those too because they are waaaaaay cheaper on here than at Wal-Mart...got this in the mail. Popped the old one out...yick...all black. Popped this one in...took 2 seconds. Suction improved right away. LOVE it. Love my awesome vacuum!

The filter looked and fit exactly the way the original equipment filter did. Shipping was fast and vacuuming smells much better around here! All around a great transaction.

We are extremely pleased with the Eureka 4870MZ Boss Smart Vac. The Hepa filtering system does an excellent job of picking up pet hair and dirt without letting any of it back into the air. With two LARGE German Sheperds and two slightly smaller cats, we have pet hair everywhere! My old Hoover was good, but this Eureka with the Hepa filter is the best by far!
The Hepa filter is easy to change, but dificult to find in our area. Fortunately for me, with Amazon, I have a choice of suppliers at a variety of prices!

The filter works well, and it was a good price. However, it took a very long time to arrive. There was, however, a nice note inside from the seller apologizing for the delay and stating that the package had been returned to them damaged and they had to resend it to me.

I ordered a Genuine Eureka HF2 Filter, and I was sent a generic from Crucial Vacuum.

Buyer Beware!

I returned it for false advertising.

I don't know why there we so many complaints...this went in and the cover closed just fine...no problems and all is well.
