The Tresoir technicians are feverishly trying to put the Nirvash together but a problem develops when Eureka tells them that it doesn't want to be put together in the same way. Nirvash tells her that he/she/it wants to "fly" so the scientists have to go back to the drawing board in terms of the body design. And who would be better to make the Nirvash a new modified board than Renton's grandpa? Now the problem is delivering it to the Gekkostate without it being captured by the military. And there's the small matter of gramp's risk of being imprisoned or even killed. The Tresoir team doesn't have all day as Dewey tests some mantle busting missles designed to stir up the Coralians. He hopes that if he coordinates them in the right places and with enough firepower, he will be able to annihilate the Coralians. Dewey isn't like Gekkostate, who are searching for some way to cohabit the planet. He wants to utterly eradicate the Coralians. When he shoots the missles into the planet, antibodies, monstrous surreal looking creatures swarm upon the nearest human cities, killing thousands. But Dewey is willing to sacrifice them if it means he can get some hard data on the missle tests. Because she is a Coralian, Eureka feels in some way responsible for the attacks and deaths of so many innocents.

Over the course of 8 volumes, Eureka Seven has gradually worked its way up to being one of the greatest anime series of all time, at least in my opinion. Renton and Eureka are way past the whole puppy love phase of their relationship, and because of the extreme circumstances, have been forced to a very adult space...minus sex of course. They both have to deal with seeing the horrors of the Coralian attacks and ruined cities. In earlier volumes, both of them might have withdrawn into their own little rooms of despair to suffer in silence. But now, both Renton and Eureka are ready to share not only the good times, but the bad times as well. It's really a beautiful illustration of what a healthy relationship can be. Just think how happy they could be if their world was at peace. Holland and Talho are also ready to face the music, as they quit pussy footing around their love for each other and Talho makes him finally admit that he doesn't have all the answers doesn't have to act so tough. Of course, the animation, music, design, and writing of the show continues with a gold standard. This sci-fi opera makes Star Wars look like a fantasy from Barney and Friends.

In Eureka Seven, volume 8, you will receive four very interesting and terrific episodes of the show. Specifically, these are episodes 31 upto and including 34. This show is a classic, and these episodes do not dissapoint. If you haven't read any of my other Eureka Seven reviews, or haven't seen the episodes before these, don't read on or you will be lost.

The Nirvash is undergoing repairs at the Tressior research facility. With the help of Greg Eagen, a.k.a. "Dr. Bear", the Nirvash is going to undergo a radical transformation. The first episode introduces us to this funny man and gives us insight on one member of the Gekkostate's past. Meanwhile, the main antagonist of the show, Dewey is rising in power and performing tests involving killing people to hunt down Antibody Coralians, a new type of Coralian. Dewey doesn't care how many have to die in his quest to "save" the world. As our heros watch the horror unfold, they realize it is time to start things up.

Episode two of the disc is a warmer one with Axel Thurston making a daring escape to deliver the new board for the Nirvash. With the board, the type Zero defeats the End in a rematch. This episode shows some emotion from Axel towards his grandson, Eureka, and his friend in a wonderful way. Now that Nirvash's transformation is complete, a new goal is set - rescue Master Norb.

Episode three is an extremely touching episode that tests if the Gekkostate can stay together. Emotions run rampant as Eureka and Renton ride together into the sun. Finally, the last episode explains a bit of Holland, Eureka, and Norb's past. We are introduced to the Vodarac master as he confronts Dewey. Can our heros save him?

Overall four extremely intriguing episodes of the series. Compared to the last volume, these episodes are much happier, though they do have many graphic images. With Norb's appearance, both sides may just be closer to achieving victory. As the Gekko attempts to rescue him, the show continues to shine. I recommend this DVD to all Eureka Seven fans, or fans of anime in general who have seen the episodes before these.

I love this show and I will continue to buy this anime show! Another one of my favorite volumes.

Well, things have definitely taken an interesting turn. We're introduced to another major player and get some major developments of the story as well. There's definitely a darker side to the series in this volume, which should come as no surprise given that the story is really starting to push forward. Along with this comes some important revelations as well. It's getting harder to wait for the next episodes since things are moving so fast.

I didn't notice the drop in quality that I feel I saw in the last volume, so that's a plus. Everything else stays consistent as in previous volumes.

It's obviously going to be a downhill ride from here on out. I'll miss some of the more lighthearted moments, but I don't honestly believe they're completely gone quite yet; they'll just be rarer. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this all plays out.
