Editorial Reviews

Review

"Justina Gregory's splendidly helpful and up-to-date commentary is crisp, judicious and seriously thought-provoking. It will be very widely and gratefully used."--Prof. P. E. Easterling, Cambridge University

"A reliable and subtle commentary on a complex and eventful play."--Luigi Battezzato, Classical Journal

"An admirably clear, impeccably researched student text that will be as useful to the scholar as it is to the undergraduate....The commentary offers much both to the inexperienced reader of the Greek and the scholar....manages to be both erudite and accessible."--Bryn Mawr Classical Review

5.0 out of 5 stars informative commentary, February 24, 2009
By
Justina Gregory has produced a very useful commentary on this play. She has established her own text, but the real usefulness for most people will be her commentary. This is clearly addressed to more advanced students and scholars, but Gregory has kept in mind that many users will require help now and then with the more difficult passages, especially in the choruses. She does not burden her commentary with parallel passages, but gives clear grammatical and philological explanations of the text.
